southsider2k5
QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 1, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) You ever been in a gym/arena where it's so loud that everything in your area near you just seems to get totally silent? It's amazing. Yes. The arena was so loud the refs couldn't hear the buzzer at the end of the game. They ended up counting a shot that was a full second and a half after the clock hit 0.0. We lost a tourney game like that when I was in college.

RockRaines
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 1, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) As an Illini grad, i dont have much to compare it with, as there were only a few games where our stadium could even be considered "loud". I've been to Iowa & ND, but those are smaller and dont compare loudness wise. I would agree, I'd think a stadium like Happy Valley with 100k+ peeps, and many of them young college students, would seem to be louder than a smaller stadium like Qwest, although I guess the stadium dynamics could play in effect on that as well Ok, I was just trying to compare. Obviously I think the Shoe is one of the loudest stadiumds I've even been in, but also Oregon's is supposed to be ridiculous because its build into a hill. I just find pro crowds to be a little less crazy.
MexSoxFan#1
Nothing happening in the NFL?Why the biggest game in the history on the NFL is this coming Monday night according to ESPN! OK,you're right, chatter away about college football because if I hear another story about Favre vs his former team,I'm going to scream... Oh and by the way,the Vikes will hand the Packers their asses on Monday night,Green Bay just isn't that good IMO,I aint buying it. GoSox05
As a Packer fan the closer it gets to this game on Monday, the weirder it gets. ESPN usually over hypes things, but this is a big game. Its nice to see that a big hyped game isn't between two east coast teams.

Since when was anyone talking about the Monday night game that you had to come into the thread and bring your s*** opinion in? Tired of seeing all the s*** posts like this ragging on GB, we get the point, you don't think they are that good. I don't think the Bears are that good but I don't say jack s*** about them, no. What do you expect, Favre is the best player in the game and he is playing his former team. Anything beats watching ESPN hype the stupid Cowboys and their stadium, bit sick of hearing analysts talk about how good that team is and Jerry Jones and the gang. I think the Monday night game "might" be close, do I expect GB to win, no, but I would be stoked if they do, but I wasn't expecting them to win wk 1 or even lose wk 2. The game ultimately hinges on both teams offensive lines as they are not that great. Who knows, emotions can change the game, Favre I'm sure would like to beat GB and I'm sure GB would love to stick it to Favre. You might get some more people who care about the Packers on somewhere that doesn't revolve around Chicago.

Just because I don't think GB is a really good team doesnt make my opinion s***ty...would it be less s***ty if I thought they were good? I haven't taken any shots at the city (town?) of Green Bay nor fans of the team,I just don't think that highly of them as a team,8-8 is about right for them IMO. About the game on MNF,the Vikings will bury the Pack,Rodgers will be getting off the ground repeatedly during that game, the Pack's O line is terrible. Favre the best NFL player?lol,ok... I think that was pretty obvious from his post as well and some of you need to get a clue. Im a Bears fan as well but this is the NFL thread, I encourage fans from all teams to post on it because it is nice to have outside opinion. If we want to be a bunch of idiot homers the mods can pin a Bears thread or you can post on the Chicago Bears board on nfl.com
lostfan
Actually I didn't see any non-Bears fans discouraging posts from other fans, Poster A took issue with the fact that his team was being slighted, Poster B wrote later that this is the "NFL" thread and Poster C wrote that it was still composed primarily of Bears fans so obviously you're going to see more Bears talk than anything else.
