Another Fossil.....

Runs over numerous people and kills at least 10 in Cali.

Why is it, when one of these geriatrics..... who shouldn't be driving in the first place  ..... decides to "hit the wrong pedal" (always the same excuse), they always take out people in the prime of their lives? Happens every f***ing time. Just like lottery winners. Never a 20 something that could use it. Always a f***ing fossil with one foot in the grave.

Word to all the perfectly capable geriatric drivers across the globe..... if you're gonna drive and "accidentally..... hit the wrong pedal", do it at or near an old folks home and put some of those crotchety old f***ers that have lived a full life out of THEIR misery.

Too bad for the families of those suffering a loss at the hand of someone who shouldn't have been driving in the first place  .

Dude, before i start, chill a little. Those older folks didnt do this on purpose. Now onto our agreeing. I think once you hit the age of lets say 71 or 72, you needed to be tested 5 or 6 times a year, to see if you are really capable of driving. I am being totally honest when i say i think the older generation causes more problems on the road than lets say teenagers. This is MY experience.

Both groups are problem drivers but I think the teenagers actually have a higher accident rate.

This may be unpopular for the younger kids..but I don't think you should be able to get your license to drive a 2 or 3 thousand pound machine until the age of 17 or 18..

And you can get a drivers permit at the age of 16..

But I being 16 once(only a short 7 years ago :D ) when I got my drivers license I was horrible terrified driving..and being involved in 2 minor car accidents(I wasn't driving) the drivers were both 16 and 17(the 16 year old was a girl) and the 17 year old was a guy..

We all drive like damn maniacs(myself included) when we're that young..

So as unpopular as this proposal is, I think it may save hundreds and hundreds of lives a year.

All right everybody..ATTACK!!!!! ME at will :bang

Personally, I think there should be a uniform age for driving, alcohol consumption, purchasing cigarettes/porn and voting etc instead of having them be 16, 21, and 18 respectively. There is something f***ed up when kids can be drafted to fight in a war, but can't be at the age to drink alcohol.

There are still people that drive like maniacs when they are older. Coming home one evening, there is a curve and a no passing zone near my house with a 55 mph speed limit. I am doing 60 and the car behind me passes me on a curve [illegal] and passes in a no passing zone [illegal] while going waaaaaay faster than I was [illegal] Turns out to be a squad car with no lights on. There is an adult that broke 3 different traffic laws and could have caused an accident.

People drive like maniacs no matter what their age...some people can just get away with it and not get busted.

No way!! I completely agree with you. When I got my DL and first car I was scared s***less to drive. I got rearended TWO days after I got my DL, by a 17 year old. I didn't drive for 3 months after. Teens are way more of a risk on the road. And even worse when they catch a break and get a fake ID or turn 21. That's why insurance is so high. My grama (who has NEVER been in an accident and is 74) pays less then HALF what Jim and I pay for a FULL YEAR of insurance because of her good driving record.

Uniform driving laws would take the issue out of state hands where it should be. The farm states need to have younger driving laws than the urban states.

It is so sad that some people don't have enough responsibility to give up the keys when they obviously need to.
