BFirebird
Isn't Matt Joyce on the Rays now? I think Farmio just said the Tigers sent him to the minors for Josh Anderson.
103 mph screwball
Hopefully, Gavin has worked it out and will give the Sox 3 more 1-2-3 innings and turn it over to the back end of the pen.
jasonxctf
maybe Gavin can get through 4, turn it over to Carrasco for 5-7 and let Thornton/Linebrink/Dotel/Jenks close this bad boy out.
TylerAtIU
I can only watch from gamecast but looking at his velocity any signs he may be hurting?
lostfan
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) Whats to understand. Catcher calls the game, you pick up the target, execute your mechanics, and try to hit the spot. Its not like a pitcher has to think all that much. I would say, thinking too much and messing with your catcher who calls the game gets more pitchers in trouble. Young pitchers should be like robots, see sign, hit spot and repeat. Buehrle's been in the league for years and he still pitches like that.
103 mph screwball
Lillibridge shows bunt, and just barely gets thrown out on a hard hit ball up the middle that bounced off the pitcher to Inge. Josh with a base hit up the middle.

caulfield12
I've seen a couple of 93 and one at 96 after he was pissed off after the homer, when he was facing Inge. Cold weather...Gavin just doesn't seem to be loose and he has no confidence with his command and he's standing straight up (as noted by Hawk and Stone). A lot of times, it's simply throwing two seam versus four seam fastballs, too. HOME RUN DERBY. So much for the theories about Quentin's wrist not being ready to go. whitesoxbrian
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) Rememer when someone 2 or 3 games ago said "it's obvious Quentin or Alexei won't have the years they had last year"? Hits like that can get Alexei going, and Quentin is starting to heat up. ^^^^^^^^^^
