Jim Fainter
Jason, since the trades didn't work, do we still have to give up Pacheco, Rupe, Webster?
Chisoxfn
Lol. We should have the option to just give him back, lol. Even though I like Carl Everett a lot.
KipWellsFan
It's not Carl's fault, and he's playing up to standards IMO. It was just a butthead trade from the start. And IMO so was the Alomar trade.
Jordan4life_2003
A trade that didn't work out for the sox? You're kidding me...That never happens....
Chisoxfn
Actually in hindsight I'd say the Alomar deal was the worse deal. The problem with the Everett deal is he isn't a centerfielder and that they should of packaged Lee for pitching and then acquired Everett. To this day I still wish the Sox had Jimenez. Chisoxfn
If only his or Crede's shots to dead center were a foot farther.
Jordan4life_2003
U know it's bad when u wish for Jiminez. But I see your point. Alomar goin downhill had nothing to do with the Mets or being in the nl...He's just on the downside of his career. Nobody can do it forever. And by the way....f*** U BILLY SNOCH :fyou
KipWellsFan
D'Angelo Jimenez isn't really that much worse than Alomar. He just made a lot of bad plays at the wrong times.
Ishmookie
yeah a deal's a deal; who knows we still have a long shot. (i hope)

No way. Let Cincy have his lazy ass. I understand slumps, but in no way can I ever condone someone who plays half assed.
Jim Fainter
Jason, I will never understand your fascination for Jiminez. He is the prototypical non-winner.

Cerbaho-WG
At least with Alomar and Everett you're probably going to get 3-4 draft picks from them. I highly doubt they'd want to come back to the s***hole known as our team.

I highly doubt they'd want to come back to the s***hole known as our team. The big thing is, the Sox have to offer arbitration to get draft picks and via arbitration players can only take a 20% paycut, meaning the Sox are risking those guys coming back for one year deals at quite a bit of money. Right now I wonder if anyone will give Alomar or Everett close to what they are making. If they get 4 picks for them like they could, then I'd be happy with it. witesoxfan
D'Angelo Jimenez isn't really that much worse than Alomar. He just made a lot of bad plays at the wrong times. Ya don't say? You know what that says to me? He is a s***ty ballplayer. He is lolly-gags around. What we need is a leadoff hitter. We still don't have one. Alomar is a s***ty leadoff hitter. I would rather have Willie Harris leading off then Robby Alomar. We need more team speed and good hitter-types, and less power, because the more power we get, the s***tier we get. We already have enough 25 homer guys....I want 1 or 3 more 25 steal guys and 1 or 2 more .310 average types, and we need to get rid of two or three of these s***ty .265 25 80 type guys. By my count....we have atleast 5 guys you could put in that category(Valentin, Lee, Konerko, Daubach, and Everett). The only three worth keeping are Valentin, Daubach, and Everett.....Valentin hits for a worse average then that, but he is actually pretty good defensively at SS(what's he have, like 12 errors or something? Compare that to Furcal's 20 or so, and even in that regard, he is good, not to mention he has a very strong arm and good range as well), and he is a very, very good baserunner, Daubach because he is a very good fundamental ballplayer, and he has a little versatility, and Everett because he can play all 3 OF spots adequately, and he can swipe a few bases as well. Lee and Konerko should be traded if we want any chance of winning, IMO.
Jim Fainter
The two trades actually hurt our team speed, because Harris and Rowand are arguably the fastest players on the team, and they have been relegated to the bench.
