Flash Tizzle
Dane Cook's latest Comedy Central special was about what'd you expect from him, pure s*** -- except for far fewer animated body moments and several unexpected references to his deceased parents. If this man has a career ten years from now I'd be surprised. It'd only be to the people currently listening to him, too; not the next generation of teens/young adults. Chisoxfn
QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) It's a shame so many people stopped watching Prison Break, as tonight's series finale was the best finale I've ever seen. I liked the Scrubs finale, but this one was a million times more memorable. Ya, it was f***ing awesome. I couldn't give up on Prison Break and it finished really strong after getting pretty hokie for a while. I give Fox credit, they said it was going to end and than gave the directors time to put together a real good ending that wrapped things up. Cali
It's sad to see what happened to Dane... Stand Up comedy is not a thing you should get THAT much success in. You can't do stand up at Madison Square Garden, that's waaaaaay too big. I was a fan of his back in the late the early 2000's when NO ONE knew who he was, and he was damn funny for the time. Unfortunately the more success he got the more he had to become almost a parody of himself, and do the jokes everyone expects from him. I'm personally not a fan of him anymore, but his "Harmful if Swallowed" Album is still hilarious. You may not like the guy, but motherf***er is a savvy businessman. He used myspace and the internet in general to get his comedy out there like no one has ever done and it f***ing worked cause that guy is making BANK. When only like .1% of stand-ups will ever make that kind of money...
juddling
I like how the writers of How I Met Your Mother remembered to use the goat incident in last night's season finale since it was now Ted's 31st birthday and not his 30th.

RockRaines
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 19, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) Yup, I was expecting it. It was a very funny finale. I thought it was terrible and cheesy, the leaping ending was gay. They also apparently taped that a long time ago because Robin was barely pregnant in it and as we all saw, her and Lilly are busting and the seams. SoxFan562004
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/05/breaki...-1.html?cnn=yes My Name is Earl got the axe, but someone might save it. Doesn't suprise me, I was a big fan of the first season and to me, that show took a stunning nose dive in quality, it quickly became unwatchable. Much of it had to do with Jamie Pressley's (sp?) character. I hated when she became more of a focus and thought it ruined the show.

I agree with the bad episode, but I think the end was pretty solid with Ted teaching and that's where he meets his wife. This season has been very hit or miss, some episodes where great, others bad. The best was the episode with Barney singing the holiday music with his own lyrics.
Nixon
ABC is going with a show called COUGAR TOWN next season. I lol'd at the premise: In a small Florida town, the center of high society is the Cougars high school football team... which is wildly appropriate since this town is the natural habitat for over-tanned, under-dressed divorcées prowling for younger men. Jules desperately doesn't want to be one of them, but with an ugly divorce behind her and 40 staring right back at her, she's longing for a little more action in her life. The available men her own age, like her silver fox of a neighbor, Grayson Ellis, only seem interested in dating barely legal hotties -- which is awkward considering he's also her teenage son Tad's therapist. Egged on by her very married and very irreverent best friend Elle and her determined assistant Laurie, Jules reluctantly dips her toe back into the dating pool. To her surprise, she hits it off with a nice young guy named Bobby -- emphasis on the young -- and discovers this gal still has the goods. I'm so glad network TV is mining the world of pornography for ideas now.

Brian
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) I liked the show early on, but after a while, what is left with the original premise? I mean how many wrongs can one person right? It got dull. I think when it stuck to the list, the show was top notch. It's the episodes that totally strayed away from it that were its downfall. Balta1701
Link. This series always gets such weird selections of regular 1-2 season cast members... Freddie Prinze Jr. as Jack Bauer Jr.? Sources said Prinze is joining the cast of the Fox series "24" as a regular, playing Davis Cole, a recently returned Marine who runs CTU Field Ops and wants to follow in the footsteps of Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). Prinze is one of several new cast members on the real-time drama, whose upcoming eighth season started production Wednesday. Anil Kapoor ("Slumdog Millionaire") plays a Middle East leader, Chris Diamantopoulos is the president's new chief of staff, and John Boyd is cast as a CTU systems analyst. All three are regulars, while Jennifer Westfeldt has come aboard in the recurring role of a journalist. Also taking a recurring role on the series is Nazneen Contractor as Kapoor's daughter. Cali
I attempted to watch the Goode Family last night, I could only get through about 10 mins of it.... So bad (no pun intended) The jokes were cringeworthy. After the line: "WWAGD? What Would Al Gore Do?" I was out. Mike Judge peaked with King of the Hill

So bad (no pun intended) The jokes were cringeworthy. After the line: "WWAGD? What Would Al Gore Do?" I was out. Mike Judge peaked with King of the Hill Watched for around 10 minutes as well, but had to bail when the topic turned to sex and my kids were in the room. Definitely stereotyped and often cringe-worthy jokes, but as a Greenie I kind of enjoyed being poked fun of in good humor. I can't see the showing having any type of longevity though - maybe it's only meant to be a summer season replacement so they have to fit 500 obvious jokes and quips into a limited amount of time. Soxbadger
King of the Hill>Beavis & Butthead. Some of the sketches were good, but King of the Hill is hilarious. And I will never forget Cornholio. Cali
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 28, 2009 -> 09:23 AM) Fixed. Beavis & Butthead >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> King of the Hill as well. Oh god no. KOTH was better in every single possible way than Beavis & Butthead. Beavis & Butthead was funny when you're 10 and it's gross-out humor, and you shouldn't be watching it, but then you grow up... King of the Hill had amazing writing, better characters, better storylines. Just some brilliant animated TV during it's best seasons...
