Brian Anderson hitting .297, .395 on base.

WE NEED A CENTERFIELDER.

Don't forget about his defense too. I'm glad we marched Wise out there until he got hurt.

Hopefully we DFA Owens after this game. I'd take him out of the game right now for this pathetic show of defense he has displayed. I'd rather take my chances with Prancer.

How about benching him after his pathetic show of offense?

No point in DFAing him. He'll go unclaimed. They should release him outright like the Yanks did with Humberto Sanchez.

Owens sucks but at least he has the lefty vs. lefty excuse.

Why can't a top prospect like Lillibridge hit the damn ball? His career (like Owens') is about over.

HE'S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING A TOP PROSPECT! He hit .220 in the minors last season.

You know, we thought Wise was bad.... Owens is about 20x worse. It'd be a breath of fresh air to have Wise out there instead of Owens.

Hopefully we DFA Owens and call up Prancer. Prancer sucks as well, but he's a ton better as a baseball player.

Lillibridge is a top prospect? He *used* to be a top prospect, but by the time we traded for him his stock had fallen pretty far.

Here's the problem...at least Ozzie has an idea Owens sucks. If we promote Pods, Ozzie might play him 80 pct of the time.

Nice inning for Buehrle...time to get middle of the order going again and get some men on for Corky.

It's half running joke, half he's giving us some of the best at bats.

I'm talking about where he got drafted. Wasn't he a top pick? Lillibridge I mean.

So you're asking why some prospects fail? That's a pretty easy answer. They don't develop like people projected them to and fail to adjust to major league pitching.

Yeah that's basically what I was asking. These guys like CJ Henry and Lillibridge hit the s*** out of the ball their whole baseball lives then they completely suck once they sign pro contracts.

The level of competition in high school and college is completely different than in the pros. It's not easy to project how a guy out of high school is going to look in 5 or 6 years. On the other hand, college grads are easier to project because they have so much experience and exposure, but even when they get to the minors they are seeing better competition than they've ever played against. Top prospects are projections, and are far from being guaranteed future studs. Any number of things could go wrong for them, whether it be a lack of adjustments to professional pitchers or something completely mental.
