GoSox05
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 05:08 PM) For those watching, are shadows in play at home plate? The sun hasn't been out since sunday.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 05:11 PM) The sun hasn't been out since sunday. It's been pretty sunny at work most of the afternoon. I'm in the northwest side near O'Hare.
NorthSideSox72
It still baffles me that Owens honestly thought that his best use of offseason time was with a track coach, instead of a hitting coach or at least a baseball running coach. And that in Spring Training, he actually thought he just needed to stay healthy. How does he not know better? How do the Sox not tell him otherwise? caulfield12
The White Sox offense hasn't NOT been out since Sunday. Ramirez/Miller/Lillibridge. That could be the worst bottom 3 in the AL. I don't know what's "lower" than Winnin' Ugly, but this day might define it. This guy was in the Frontier League....and he's blowing us away at 86-91 MPH. You'd think we were facing Koufax, Drysdale or Sam McDowell out there. I mean, it's cold and dreary, I get that, but c'mon guys. I can see this happening also. This guy has incredibly mediocre stuff. Look what we did to Burgeson the 2nd time around in BAL. This guys is worse. fathom
This lineup the Sox have is just not going to get it done in the majors. I also think if you want to play Owens, you play him in the game with Felix Hernandez, as you might need to try and steal more against him. BigSqwert
They might as well employ the Varitek shift for our entire lineup the way we're swinging.

caulfield12
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 05:17 PM) Maybe we can have Seattle agree to let Lillibridge hit off a tee. He would still pop it up or hit it off the luxury boxes down the 1B line with that swing of his. We seem to collect hitters with really bad swings (Borchard, Owens, Lillibridge, Anderson, Fields). Or hitters that just try to jack almost every pitch out of the park (Thome/Quentin).
SoxFan1
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 04:19 PM) First time around: .276/.382/.345/.727 Second time around: .333/.316/.500/.816 Am I a retard or is it unpossible to have a .333 avg and a .316 OBP?
caulfield12
Possible....Betancourt has a lower OBP than BA by a couple of points. Nice range, JD. I can't believe Branyan has hit 4 homers with how he's looked today. And now we return to our 1985-1988 White Sox offense. Keep those commercials ready to go...if you blink, you'll miss the half inning. Edited April 28, 2009 by caulfield12
