What in the world is Ozzie waiting for? You have to relievers up in the pen, get Colon out. Everyone at the park could see he was getting the ball up in the zone more.

... and caulfield was actually wondering if he would go 8.

You can't walk Russell Branyan with a 2 run lead and nobody on

Hard to get outs when you're throwing the ball over the plate and it's not getting called. Branyan looked surprised on a few of the calls.

Thank God.

Not so easy to trust Linebrink and Thornton coming in cold in that situation, either. Dotel would have been the logical choice, but Colon is a veteran that Ozzie can trust to get himself out of trouble in those situtions.

Corky has one of the Top 5-7 arms in the game and he has a ton of experience at the position. He's also had a lot of time on the bench to observe, which proves invaluable to catchers and later managers. (Although never seen a MLB manager with those sideburns).

Wow, that was so freaking close. Ozzie is really sticking with Colon a little too long.

I dont agree, its not like all of a sudden he lost his stuff. He has been locating well all game, got squeezed a little and his player made an error.

Awesome game for Colon...hell of an effort by Corky with the pitch calling. Should be Thornton for the 8th. If it's Linebrink, I might bite my wrist off.

A lefty leads off. Thornton will at least get Ichiro.

Yep. There's not much reason to do that with a vet like Colon. This isn't some rookie who hasn't shown that he can pitch out of jams.
