Milkman delivers
My parents don't use the internet much, but my dad recently asked me what was a good, cheap option. I assumed some sort of dial-up, but I don't know. I've always just used Comcast or Verizon. Can anyone suggest a good one?

SexiAlexei
Local DSL. You can find DSL for $20, and you get good speed. Dial up is retarded with current web pages, but DSL should be good enough, unless your parents are looking to download the latest torrent movies. Mine have SBCGlobal, and I don't think it's expensive at all.
Leonard Zelig
Does anybody know how I can check the speed of my current internet? I mean what it actually is, not what the company says.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 1, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) Does anybody know how I can check the speed of my current internet? I mean what it actually is, not what the company says. You have to be careful of the speedtests. Some of them are not all that accurate, and your PC can affect the results if you have something sucking down resources. Be careful of the speedtest sites. Some of the sites are charltans that only seek to sell you some bogus registry cleaner, or some other miracle program that makes your system super fast.
