Kalapse
QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) So 3 hits in the first 5 innings tonight. Our offense has been absolutely pathetic in the early innings of games. It's just too damn humid out there. Just wait until we get into a nice hot, dry climate this lineup will explode. Oh but not too hot or windy or cloudy, nobody likes clouds.

Just wait until we get into a nice hot, dry climate this lineup will explode. Oh but not too hot or windy or cloudy, nobody likes clouds. and not against a lefty. or someone they've never seen before. or a soft tosser. otherwise, we're gold. Cubano
I do not understand why the Sox opted to pitch to Blalock intead of M. Byrd. in the 4th. He should had walked to first intentionally.

Just wait until we get into a nice hot, dry climate this lineup will explode. Oh but not too hot or windy or cloudy, nobody likes clouds. Exactly, so many damn excuses being made. They're just not generating enough offense in the first few innings, and by rule, it makes it harder to score as you get into the bullpen. The Sox have been much better against the opposition's bullpen this year compared to the past few years.
kapkomet
There's ANOTHER cell getting ready to blast through. This is where they will call it, probably. I think this game is over. It's pathetic to lose 9-1 in 5 innings.

He should had walked to first intentionally. Wouldn't have mattered. Contreras had NOTHING, and it was just a matter of time before Texas started to crush him. Contreras needs to be sent to the glue factory, and receive a 2005 WS DVD as a parting gift.
kapkomet
Two starts ago, to me it looked like his stuff was there (the one against Detroit). Tonight, he didn't have s***.

Coming into today: vs Relief pitchers: .296/.361/.498/.859 in 275 PA, the team OPS is right around .700 against SP First 4 innings: 37 runs in 88 innings = 0.42 runs per inning = 1.68 runs per game in the first 4 innings Innings 5 - 8: 61 runs in 88 innings = 0.69 runs per inning = 2.76 runs per game in innings 5-8 The Sox have only scored 4 runs in the first inning this season, that's not good. Hawks up 5-2 late in the 3rd and the Royals just took the lead 8-7 in the 11th on a bases loaded walk. Oh and today's outing from Contreras will probably force KW's hand which is half good I suppose.
