flavum
Poreda, no-hitter thru 5. 5 walks, 8 strikeouts 85 pitches. 46 strikes, 39 balls 3-0 Barons
Cali
If he's got a no-no, you gotta leave him in for at least one more innings, or until he gives up a hit....
scenario
Barons' game ended early due to rain. 3-0 good guys. Poreda with a 5-inning no-hitter. Too bad it doesn't count as a no-no.
Cali
He pitched a no-no...i think he deserves a call up now
joejoedairy
QUOTE (flavum @ May 4, 2009 -> 05:09 PM) Play suspended, Tragedy? With Beckham at the plate...what the hell? ...ok, now it says rain. For second there I thought a flying bat or ball went into the crowd. Damn you, Gameday. Its a tragedy anytime the slayers at bat gets interupted
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (scenario @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:10 PM) Barons' game ended early due to rain. 3-0 good guys. Poreda with a 5-inning no-hitter. Sockin
The game was completed early and Poreda was apparently credited with a no hitter. Edited May 4, 2009 by Sockin
JPN366
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) That's a bit of a buzzkill, they can't just delay the game? Monsoon rain, middle of a double header, saturated field, getaway day. They're making up the second game in West Tenn, which sucks, so B'ham loses a home game. scenario
QUOTE (Sockin @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:20 PM) Poreda was apparently credited with a no hitter. Hmmm... looks like your right. I wasn't sure a 5-inning rain-shortened game went in the books as an official no-hitter.

danman31
I want Carlos Torres on the big league roster this year. If he stays this hot, soon. If not, I want a look in September. Dominating AAA right now.
caulfield12
QUOTE (scenario @ May 4, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Hmmm... looks like your right. I wasn't sure a 5-inning rain-shortened game went in the books as an official no-hitter. Melido Perez did it too, I think against the Yankees. That was either five or six innings. NorthSideSox72
Kroeger starting to heat up, has his OPS up to .810 after an awful start, he's been on fire the past 5 games or so. Lucy with his second straight 2-hit game, and threw out another runner. I'd love to see those two on the roster instead of Lillibridge and Miller, since Nix can now play every position that Lilli can except CF. Poreda looking tempting, but I still think they don't jump him up like that. If JC falters, I think it is more likely that Richard and JC just flip positions. Torres is intriguing. I figured he was doing better, as the Josh Kroeger is batting .XXX updates had stopped.
