fathom
Some people will point to his two hits tonight, even though both of them should have been easy plays for KC's defense. It's not Podsednik's fault though. He has no business still playing in the majors, but KW tried to get cute and go the nostalgic route. Buehrle>Wood
Lillibridge needs to be traded to the Newark Bears before we address Pods.

Did we not have 2 years of this already? For what the team is doing as a whole right now, there are plenty of other things to b**** about rather than another stupid Podsednik thread. qwerty
This is a very legitimate thread. Podsednik when playing every day is one of the worst players in the major leagues. Easily. You are right, there is no one else to start ... kenny williams and the ownership are to blame for that, solely. So they repay the entire fan base by continuely crying poor this entire off-season, which no fan wants to hear, and raising the prices all around the stadium. Seems logical to me. Injuries? The possiblities of injuries? Players not performing how they are expected? Part of creating a viable roster is taking those things into account. elrockinMT
Nothing wrong with Pods. Trying to lay the blame on one guy is insulting the rest of the non performers. Give them all their due. We are still erly into the season. When you put role players out there to perform as a starter you have problems. It's not their fault and once we have a healthy team back out there we will start winning.

caulfield12
I would even rather have Nix in CF (after watching him handle RF tonight for the first time) than Pods. At least Nix has instincts and a pretty good arm.

Yeah, yeah financial reasons...still didn't make sense to trade for someone at close to their highest value and then turn around and basically immediately trade him at his absolute lowest value... joeynach
This team is carrying 07 style dead weight, just not major players at all. 07: Pods Erstad Mackowiak Andy Gonzalez Luis Terrero Alex Cintron Danny Richar 09: Pods Wise Lillibridge Betemit Nix Contreras (sorry to say it)
greg775
I can't believe Pods got two hits tonight. Seemed he sucked worse than that. Do other teams have as many scrubs as we do? Man we have some bad hitters on our team. Maybe I don't pay close enough attention to other teams.

Although, FWIW, Betemit is a good/effective hitter with regular player time against RHP. Edited May 5, 2009 by caulfield12

klaus kinski
Looking at this roster Pods is not the dead weight on it. He can do enuf to be on my 25 man. Fact is we traded the prize commodity , starting pitching to Atlanta, and we have Lillibridge right now to show for it. Texas trades Mark Texiera to Atlanta, basically a rent a player, and amongst others Texas got Elvis Andrus. We trade Swisher for no immediate help either. It appears our GM is not restocking the team as we were led to believe by the GM.
