ThunderBolt
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 5, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) If he is hitting .300 aqnd getting on at a .375 clip f*** the OPS and rest of the crap he is what they need and DH would be his best spot. I am not saying replace Thome but if THome is injured put him in there. There is enough power from every other spot in the line-up when Anderson is in center. Not as long as Betemit, Allen and Cook are in this organization. You do not replace Thome with Scotty Pods.

Let's just be happy he's been somewhat productive. He's swinging a magic wand right now, so whatever we can get out of him, the better.
caulfield12
Sometime, those surrendered without even a glance stolen bases by Gavin are going to bite him in the butt when he throws a wild pitch.

You do not replace Thome with Scotty Pods. Who replaced Thome the last time he was out......Brent Lillibridge. Cook????? How many spring training AB's did he get? That shows how close he is. If Thome sits Dye is a better RF than Pods.
Balta1701
Usually when Thome starts taking a bunch of walks it's a good sign, he's usually starting to see the ball well.

Right on. He may be gearing up for a run here. Run meaning great at bats, lots of hits and RBI's
caulfield12
Konerko really seems to have sustained his approach of taking the ball up the middle and to RF into the season. The home runs will come.

The home runs will come. Your right and that approach has him ovr .300. Remember some of the real bad starts to a season he has had in the past. You wanna try tearing down Betemit or Allen based on meaningless conjecture or are you just going to avoid that? if we start to measure who should play based on Spring AB's Versus actual meaningfull at bats in the minors our organization really is screwed. David Cook seems to hardly be mentioned by the Sox brass. He's very old for AA and his numbers are nothing special.

He's very old for AA and his numbers are nothing special. I agree, he's kind of like our Micah Hoffpauir, my arguement is that i'd rather have Cook DH'ing in the event of a fatal tragedy to our better options then Scotty Pods. He's very old for AA and his numbers are nothing special. While I agree hes not part of the sox future, hes younger than owens and seemed more ready for the big leagues at the end of last season, yet he got no shot. oh well cmon bullpen hold this one down

elrockinMT
QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2009 -> 12:42 AM) Infield single for Butler. You have to pull Gavin here, especially after what Jacobs did last AB. You start seeing those types of hits (soft ones in the IF) and it can damage the psch of a pitcher. Tries to come back with the perfect pitch and you see it deposited in the bleachers. Get him out of there
