Same record as 2008 at this time....

So believe it or not.. here we sit on May 14th with the same exact record as we did in 2008 at this point in the season. We were really struggling going into Toronto, and ended up getting our arse kicked in that series too, but it also saw the birth of the blow-up dolls slumpbuster fiasco. Thanks Carol Slezak for thinking the Sox locker room was "youre" office.

Waddle and Silvy were having a contest this morning

Been there done that with blow-up dolls....what do we break out this year to get these bats going? On a sidenote, is there more doubt this year? we really didn't know what we had with CQ or Alexei last year... as well as the emergence from Danks and Floyd becoming reliable starters. We only have 2 of those right now, but this team WILL hit. They always have... where did most of the optimism lie last year at this time?

Score more runs and give up less. That will bust a slump everytime.

We really need Q and Alexei to find their grooves and for Gavin to find his. Our bullpen is out-performing last year's pen, we have 3 starters we can count on most times out, Konerko is hitting better than last year, Anderson is hitting better when healthy, AJ's still AJ, JD's still JD, Thome's still Thome.

We can work through things like Fields and Getz struggling, esp. if Konerko keeps hitting, but we need Q and Alexei to find their grooves and for Gavin to stop being an automatic loss.

Alexi is starting to show signs of life. Quentin's been hitting the ball hard, just right at people.

Gavin needs to throw first pitch strike. He's been awful at this year.

Last year, when Quentin hit the ball hard right at someone, we hoped that the fan had a glove. He'll get it back, he's just not where he needs to be. Hopefully these couple days off will give him a chance to practice his swing more, since he does that everywhere anyway.

I'm hoping to cross the border succesfully again this year and catch the Sunday game (blow-up doll day). I'd try and get more in but I'm graduating Saturday. Last year Alexei couldn't come due to visa issues or something. Will he be able to make the trip this year?

If Alexei couldn't go, that would mean more playing time for Lilliputian. I'm going to assume via the Lillicurse that he won't be going.

Alexei will be there:

"Tidbits

Alexei Ramirez, who had three hits Wednesday, will be making his first trip to Toronto. He could not make the trip last year due to visa problems."

this is easy one we had more veteran team last yr and depending on alot players that dont have track record of putting up numbers that we would all like. Wasn't retooling, it's all rebuilding. Dosent look like any chemistry and ozzie cant figure it out what works best for this team. Lineups will continue to look ugly until some of the guys start stepping up from top to bottom.

Great post. Our slump buster is going to be getting healthy and getting the guys who should be performing, back up to par.
