Yeah I find him hilarious in KenpoX lol.

BTW what kind of soup do you guys make when you do the arm swirley things (I forget the name of the person they are named after)

Also, I would really like to do the German chick in the chest and back workout.

Plyo tonight, that is all.

Oh, the Karen Pot Stirrers! I like how Tony rips on someone for saying lobster bisque. Then a different routine, he says "I'm making lobster bisque, but not for me..." Ok, Tony. :)

The German chick, eh? I like Audra, from the Yoga and ab ripper workouts. I think she's the only reason I do the Yoga, is to check out her boobs every week.

German Potato soup. If thats not a P90X soup I dont know what is.

About your previous post, yeah, I am putting on alot of shoulder and arm size, not so much definition. Maybe thats the design, I havent noticed it before. The weights are making my gains very noticable.

The trainer dude is hilarious which helps except when he made me laugh a couple times while I'm in the midst of putting everything I've got into a set's last push-up hahaha.

That is actually good. Laughter actually burns about 3 calories alone FYI.

Day 3 down, starting with protein today.

The bottle says one-two scoops....26 grams of protein per scoop....and I'm not sure if I should do 1 or 2.

Alex, if your main goal is to add some bulk, definitely listen to Rock and take the 2 scoops. But just make sure you don't overwhelm your system at the beginning.

You mean with the workouts? I feel I've been pretty good with knowing my stopping point.

I'm assuming to still take protein after Yoga today, too.

He's talking about the protein. You really dont want to exceed your body weight in protein during the day. I generally only take one shake and maybe one bar during the day, so I keep my shakes to around30-40 grams of protein. If you are taking 2 a day, you may not want to have 100 of your protein cals coming from your shakes. Or maybe you do. Just keep an eye on it.

And yes, I take it every day, because first of all it keeps you feeling full, and secondly it really helps your recovery so when you do resistance workouts you arent so sore you cant complete them.

How are you liking it so far? If you keep it up, you will see results by the end of next week.

So, if my shakes are accounting for 52 grams (two scoops), I essentially want to make sure I eat less than another 80 grams? I can't imagine I'd eat that much elsewhere.

But have a shake on my rest day too?

I'm liking it so far, even if it's kicking my ass. A different part of me feels sore each day. My conundrum tomorrow is to try and fit it into my day, but I'm gonna try.

Silly protein supplement question, since it's come up here. Is there a best time to take a supplement if you're going to have one? Replacement for a meal? Before a workout? After workout? much later/much earlier?

What kind of supplements? Some are great for after a workout, some are great for nighttime or morning depending on the kind of protein.

Personally I usually rock a protein bar about 2 hours before my workout. Then I'll have a shake right after mixed with some milk for recovery. It also depends on which protein I am taking. My muscle milk is great for recovery and meal replacement, but I dont like it so much for adding to my protein load since its rich in calories and carbs. I use my Gold Standard Whey by ON for just adding to my protein intake at any time since its really lean. I have been adding some glutamine to it as well.

After a workout is the best time to take it. If you are going to add another shake into your day, they say first thing in the morning is a great time for a protein shake because you obviously weren't putting any protein into your body while you were sleeping.

On another note, I can't afford to be buying both protein and recovery drinks all the time, so after a tough workout I often drink a glass of chocolate milk as I have heard that it has everything you need after a workout where you've been sweating a lot.

Yeah, the carbs in that are great.

Check out amazon for some great deals on protein. I am saving almost 50% over GNC on there. I just grabbed some ON protein and some cliff builder bars for super cheap.

Definitely will check that out, thanks for the info.

On a side note, just finished some early afternoon plyo and am heading into a recovery week. I am going to use this week and extra yoga time to think about who I hate more: Adam in ab ripper x, or Dominick in plyo

Adam for me. Because Plyo is much easier than ARX after a resistance workout. I want to punch his face off.

Heres some of the stuff I get on amazon. Free shipping and no tax.

http://www.amazon.com/Clif-Builders-Bar-Pr...pf_rd_i=3764441

Cliff bars. Good snack or meal replacement. Lots of protein. Goes for almost 4-5 bucks at my local 7-11

http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-St...ef=pd_sim_hpc_5

This is a new Whey that I am using instead of Muscle Milk to help me lean down a bit. Tastes ok and is pretty damn cheap. 60 bucks my my local GNC. Free shipping as well.

http://www.amazon.com/USP-LABS-JACKED-LEMO...ef=pd_sim_hpc_6

I am not using this currently, but I know a few people who swear by it for resistance workouts. The price on this is ridiculous, about half off.

http://www.amazon.com/Glutamine-Powder-Unf...0815&sr=1-7

Gluamine, half off. The deals on amazon are ridiculous. My GNC card has been permanently burned.

I'd be interested to see what others are taking.

That Jackd stuff looks a bit too insane for me!

I drink a Muscle Milk Light shake in the morning, with a banana blended in if I have one around.

After my workout I drink a shake made from the ON Whey protein.

Otherwise, I try to eat lean sources of protein like tuna, salmon and chicken.

Ultimately, my goal was not to add a bunch of bulk, but instead to just get an overall tone, kind of like the swimmer's build or whatever. I've reached that point now, so I am pretty happy, but I would like to bulk up my arms a bit more, so I may have to increase the intensity of some things a bit.

I haven't posted on here for P90X in a little while... I pulled a muscle in my back after 3 weeks of this and had to take 2 weeks off but I am glad to say I have started back up and its feeling good again....

Great news, Jester.

I have been fighting through a sore shoulder for a good 10 days now. It doesn't feel like I am making the injury worse when I am exercising, and it is gradually getting better I think.

Just have to use your best judgment I guess...

I think its basically like No Xplode which is a bunch of creatine etc to give you that size and pump while you workout. I guess if you want to just add a ton of muscle its a good thing to put into your diet.

Ya, that was weird. Those workout sups do that to you, I remember popping some caps and hitting up my cell-tech and feeling that tingling all over after chugging it. Gave me a huge pump and about 15lbs of muscle though.
