Rex Hudler
Rex is right on here, reports out of Cleveland said that Rodriguez alienated his teammates, got involved in beanbrawls, and showed up a lot of hitters on the mound. And that might not even be all of it. Somethings, schmucks like us will never know.
LDF
Rodriguez was freaking awesome his first month. Then he gets injured and hasn't been as good. Watching him pitch at the beginning of the year I saw all I needed to. I'd trade a solid outfield prospect for a good pitching prospect any day of the week, especially when your the Rangers, a team that lacks pitching. He can come in and will be part of a younger more talented staff on a team that has a ton of young, talented positon players. I wish we had the Ex Indian Gm as our gm. Hart is really doing a good job in my book. He's cleaning up that mess. let look at the age spencer-31 rod-24 ludwick-25 kind of old, if they have made it by now, i wonder if they would ever. What the f*** dude? When did 24 for a baseball player get old? Your name is LDF...but have you been dabbling in LSD? Because some of your recent posts are making me wonder man. let me see, a lot of baseball minds has said they would look over someone prospect future if they can't make it by 24, towers of sd, and some others. i will finish this later, i have to go
LDF
continuing on what i said, how many players do you see that makes the bigs over 24-25 yrs of age? sure there may be a couple, but the believe is if they do not make it by 24 and is still in A or AA they are not going to make it. BA and several other mags even stated that prospect are not considered a prospect of any worth when they are over that age.

I think it is fair to say that the general rule that if a guy doesn't make it to the Majors by 24 the chances of him becoming a star are lessened significantly. But with so many college players being signed at 22, using the cutoff age of 24 is a bit outdted. And for what it is worth, in the discussion we were having, Rodriguez was in the Big Leagues by 23. No one says they have to be a star by 24.

LDF
but they are still less and less players who are making it. just recently you say, so what made it different, they are players out there. by your statement, you are saying that the talent is now being there, well the talent pool has alway been there, how many have you seen players making it. not many
Chisoxfn
I agree with Rex. By 24 more of the better prospects are in the majors at one point or another, but most aren't stars at that point and it usually takes a few years for them to adjust. Joe Crede was top prospect last year and is going to be a very good player, but he was on the older side.

T R U
You may say its stupid for cleveland to land themselves another outfielder but dont forget that one of those extra outfielders can serve as the DH.. Which would mean if this Ludwick guy is a power hitter you might want to stick him at the DH role.. Ellis Burks wont be around too much longer.. Loaiza21
The Twins traded future star Bobby Kielty, and the Indians traded a could-be-ace for nothing I guess. I love that they are giving up like that.
