HSC I am currently an intern for them. I work all the gamedays and each gameday I get assigned a different task, one day may be on field promotions, while other days I may have to work in the Kid Zone (a interactive playground) I'm currently enjoying it and it gives me an chance to get a taste of Sports Management.

:lolhitting Working in the Sox front office would be awesome. I could keep an eye on Kenny and make sure he doesn't make any dumass moves.

The butler provided the knife to the evil stepsister.  She did it.  Then she ran off with the butler so they could live happily ever after in a trailer park in Remlap, AL.

I'm probably not the one you talk to regarding picnic outings, but just give us a ring 232-8811 and say you're interested in planning a picnic outing for your company. Then they'll direct you to the ticket office.

If you are coming to the park HSC leave me a message so maybe if I have time I can stop by and say hello!

I'll make sure the kids that work for you are also treated fairly well. ;)

CubKilla- You must be referring to Jake the Diamond Dog. Yes we do, he's still here. In fact Jake is here for the first four games of the homestand July 21st-24th. I can't wait to see him!

The Cougars actually won the first half championship this year and are guranteed a spot in the playoffs. Right now we are currently 3 games back of Clinton (Texas Affiliate)

great book! billy beane makes kenny look rediculous.

No he doesn't. He basically said he made 2 bad moves, and really only one of them was(taking Ring over Blanton). We got Olivo in the Bradford deal, and while Olivo is pitiful now, he should blossom into a pretty good hitter as he matures and has a cannon on his arm. Bradford is a solid middle reliever.

Damn, this thread is OLDDDDDD.

But i was never part of it, and I finished the book about a mounth ago, and really enjoyed it. Its also cool to see some of those guys out at Kane County now. I will be working there this summer, along with CWSOX45, so it should be a good time

i dug it up from july of last year. i finished the book and thought i'd comment.

This book makes Beane look like the Ultimate GM. He's done some good things and some that weren't so good. I think he underestimated Olivo but knew exactly what he was getting in Bradford. As for the Sox taking Ring in the draft, that's a crapshoot anyway. Just because things might still work out well for Beane doesn't mean he's a genius. Beane got lucky with the big 3 in their rotation. How often does it happen that 3 young pitchers all mature and come through like those guys did. They make him look awfully smart. I think Beane's gotton too much credit, partly because of this book.
