fathom
There is so much bulls*** coming out of Axelrod's mouth right now. Financial decisions were definitely discussed. Saying that tomorrow, he might change his mind, is pretty lame. I'm sure KW has already moved on. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....agent-says.html Edited May 22, 2009 by fathom

Jordan4life_2007
My favorite part of that article. "That never changed," Axelrod added. "Jake is not afraid of the American League. He feels better aligned with the National League and San Diego. What the hell is better aligned with the NL supposed to mean?

Everybody's walking the tightrope, at the end of the day these guys still want to be civil with each other and that's very encouraging to hear. What's also interesting is that Ozzie hasn't said a word about this. No rant, no reaction, nothing. Maybe he's been gagged, because i'm sure he's been approached for comment. It's all a bunch of crap. I don't believe for one second Peavy wants to pitch in the AL. He'll make an AL team give him a king's ransom to go there. I wish him nothing but the worst after tomorrow. ThunderBolt
With the way Mitch Atkins is pitching, right now, Their is no shot that the Cubs land Peavy. Apart from Vitters every piece of that already unrealistic trade is playing themselves out of value. MexSoxFan#1
I'm so pissed at Peavy that I hope the Cubs put up 10 runs on him in the first 5 innings...then I hope the Cubs go on a 14 game losing streak.F Peavy

witesoxfan
f it. Hope for Gavin to turn it around, stay within 4-6 until July, try and work something out, and maybe he changes his tune. Or maybe the Sox sign/trade someone else.

Opt out clause, eh? That's code for, we aren't going to the AL for more than half a season. No one with a brain will give the first 2, and unless there's blackmail, no one will give the 3rd. caulfield12
Maybe he knew what he was doing? Runs scored/runs allowed differential 27. San Diego Padres -44 28. Chicago White Sox -47 29. Petco and Adrian Gonzalez are the only reason San Diego is so "high" on that list. Gavin Floyd and an underachieving or even disappointing offense so far are why the Sox are so low. That's a misleading statistic because it's f***ing May.

If so, isn't that a bit skewed considering 19 of those runs occurred in one loss?

CanOfCorn
I think I can say that Peavy will never be a member of the White Sox now...whether he "changes his mind" or even closer to the trade deadline. The one thing about a close knit organization is that if you piss off one, you piss off them all. And really, we aren't any worse than we were yesterday at 9:30 am. Well, maybe 19 runs worse.
