southsider2k5
Hey I dont care what any of you say... Jimenez is GOOD and shouldnt have been shipped out.. He could have learned from Alomar and next year would have been ready to step in.. And maybe with a new coach that would let him run a bit he could get like 20 stolen bases and be a good #2 hitter.. You cant sit here and say he sucks and if you do well your wrong, but im sure youll post anyway and plead your case that "hes the worst player ever f*** him" That seems to be the tendancy around here.. If someone isnt doing good they f***ing suck and they need to be traded.. its sad The Sox were his 3rd organization, and it was the 3rd group of players, coaches, and fans who said he was the laziest player that they have ever seen. Yeah, I am going to miss him

If someone isnt doing good they f***ing suck and they need to be traded.. its sad On the arrival of Alomar, I believe Jimenez said something to the extent of "I do not want to be here, because I want to start, so I would like to be traded." He would not have learned a damn thing from Alomar. Harris, on the other hand, was more welcome of Alomar, saying something like "Hopefully, he can start, and I can learn a few things from him. I am looking forward to this." You apparently never watched him play. He had no range defensively(ala Royce Clayton), his arm was weak(ala Royce Clayton), his average in June had to have been about .150(somewhat like Royce Clayton), he had a s***ty attitude(ala Royce Clayton) and he was a lazy-ass on the field(which Royce Clayton was not). Maybe everyone will hear it here first, but I'll say it. I would rather have Royce Clayton on my team then D'Angelo Jimenez.
T R U
He plays f***in second base.. who gives a s*** if his arm is weak.. that isnt much of a throw to first base.. ANYWAY Go ahead and say what you want, but he did contribute to the team.. but hes gone and isnt comin back, I was just saying that you dont need to say he f***in sucks and is the worst player ever because he isnt.. Molto
people hate him because of the sticker that was placed on him before he even started playing. everyone likes to look at the comments made by Ryan Klesko or base things on what someone heard from their friend who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a player. fact is, Jimenez was a HUGE reason we even stayed afloat in the early going as he was our ONLY offensive threat. as far as hustle. first off, he did run hard many times, no more or less than any other major league player these days. it is amazing how Ordonez could jog into second base the other day, or how Valentin can jog out a grounder, WHICH HE DID THE OTHER DAY, and nobody says a damn thing, but Jimenez did it and people ripped him to shreds. was Jimenez a bit lazy? yeah, you can say so. was his defense bad? at the time? his defense was questionable, but how can Valentin get away with poor defense for 15 years and Jimenez can't get away with it for a few months? as far as baserunning? yeah, it was bad, but who is to say he can't improve on it? Lee did and is a pretty good baserunner now. why can't Jimenez? people picked on Jimenez. our team was terrible and, just like Royce Clayton, Jimenez was to blame. I also find it funny how nobody points out Jimenez ability to hit all pitchers. Jimenez was a fastball or offspeed hitter. he wasn't a lefty or righty only hitter. he, unlike Roberto Alomar, had the capabilities to hit all pitchers. I can't believe a 25-year-old guy who has never been given a full year to prove and improve himself in the bigs is put under so much damn scrutinity, especially considering how piss poor this team has played over the past few years. you guys had a bad impression of Jimenez from day one and kept on adding to it because of little stupid things he did that many other players do. can you say double standard? Molto
BTW, I'm glad Jimenez is no longer with us, simply because I would like to see him go somewhere where he can develope, make mistakes and learn, and not here where he was under a damn microscope while other players were playing worse behind everyones backs. southsider2k5
Sorry Mario, why people in 3 different orgs, say he was the laziest player that they have ever seen, it makes me take notice. Plus there were so many times I saw him duff plays in just the half season he was here. I don't care how much ability you have, if you don't care, you aren't going to give 100% and that bothers me. This board is a sounding place for our thoughts and impressions. Obviously they are in line with the organization on this topic. Nobody here was able to trade Jimenez we just pointed out what somehow the team thought as well. Now if only they will realize Thomas should be playing first. pearso66
The reason Valentin gets away with bad fielding sometimes and Jimenez didnt was valentin got his by trying hard, and generally getting to a ball that Jimenez would never have been able to get to. Jimenez got his bad fielding by mental lapses. I can take an error if the player is trying. Not if he is lazy in doing so. And I never knew what Klesko had said about Jimenez until after I had noticed he was lazy. And then I agreed with him. Until he keeps his head in the game for 162 game a year, I dont know if he will stick with any team for that whole year. And I'm glad that it wont be on this team. He lost his job to Vasquez, and he wasn't even playing that well to begin with, but there was obviously something that made the Padres rather play him than Jimenez.
