SnB
woooooo! great to hear. The score was just terrible in the midday.
SoxFan562004
glad Murph is gone, but dissapointed Holmes is getting shoved out of a day time slot over MacNeil. Too bad Holmes had to be burdened with Hampton, he had no chance to succeed with him. I will most likely listen to Waddel and Silverman over MacNeil alone, but will give the cross talk segment a shot since I like B & B a lot and think the dynamic with MacNeil will bring out the best in him. It's unfortunate that the Score went with a guy who appeals to meatheads and thinks veiled cocaine references are cool over a good young broadcaster who is really starting to come into his own. Steve9347
I think Mac N Holmes would be an awesome show, I don't see why they didn't just do that.
SAVVY18
They need to move Murphy to the Browns Chicken Drive-through window so he can ask "What's (on) your Beef, sir? SIde of potatoes? ...that's about all he's good for. Maybe he can get hired by Mc-F-A-I-L and clean "Abbey's old drawers" or go work the bleacher bums for a few donations to his moustache fund. Can you tell I can't stand that cubby troll?
CanOfCorn
There is absolutely NO WAY they let Mac host 4 hours by himself. I bet Holmes has a part on that show. If not, they are going to get a co-host. Maybe not on equal billing, but he's not going to talk alone every day.
southsideirish71
profile of the average murph caller. Eldery, white male Most likely a cubs fan Easily excitable, this based on how wheezy they get when they call into the show. Calls the police to get those darn kids off his lawn all the time. Easily confused by Murphs horns, whistles and sound effects
JorgeFabregas
Matt Spiegel will be MacNeil's partner. He was sounding awfully sycophantic on B&B yesterday.
MurcieOne
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 08:58 AM) Matt Spiegel will be MacNeil's partner. He was sounding awfully sycophantic on B&B yesterday. I think Spiegel and Mac will do great together. I like the blending of style and personalities. Mike North gone... Murph Gone... this as good as I've ever seen the score line-up. EVER. Harry Chappas
Murph defending Zambrano and Lilly a week or so back made my ears bleed. I'd like to hear McNeil in the morning or afternoon drive as he is much better the others. Mully and Hanley are good but they are kind of bland. Boers has been incoherent as he has taken to simply making noises with his mouth and following whatever opinion Bernstein lays out there, except for horse racing, than he has a point. Bernstein is treading down as well and I am not certain why. Edited June 8, 2009 by Jenks Heat

I know it's the set-up of the show, but they really do come across has blowhard know-it-alls. And the worst part is...they could be great if they went on knowledge alone, but they go on refuting dumb-ass callers for humor. And it's really not funny anymore. Winners of the understatemnt of the year award. It's like having a discussion with my 8 year old. Everything you say must be wrong. I used to really like them. Dan had a great mroning show on the weekends when he was just having fun. The best was a show dedicated to lining up old cartoon characters for a football team. Fred Flintstone at RB, the kangaroo that used to kick Sylvester around was the kicker etc. Now he takes everything far too seriously which is ironinc because they promote their show to be as "don't take it seriously." I've unfortunately had to turn them off.

bigruss
So I went out during my lunch break and Murph was on and no wonder you guys hate him so much. He was saying the most ridiculous things, and then started taking calls from people who were saying it was a shame that he was being moved out of the slot. What a f***ing ego for him to take sympathy calls, ones that bashed the Score management. Unprofessional IMO. Also, his voice and wheezing was really annoying. All this in 5 minutes... I've told this story before, but when I was interning for "The Wise guys", i was in charge of putting together the intro for their JagBag segment. The intro consisted of Jags from the previous week. One week i used one of a caller ripping on Murph. One of the producers told me to never do that again because they didnt want Murph chewing them out.
