jasonxctf
who's the backup 1B?
Balta1701
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) 3B at Charlotte should be a sign. Bye bye Josh. If Getz is healthy I'd rather see Beck at third, Lexi at short and Getz at 2B. Getz hasn't hit any better than Fields.
justBLAZE
Cowley saying he should be seeing most of the time at 3B. Remember everyone game tomorrow at 1:05 CSN.
TitoMB345
Holy crap, I'm so excited! Definitely an exciting day for White Sox fans. See ya later Betemit! Hello GORDAN f***ING BECKHAM!
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 11:06 PM) who's the backup 1B? Good Question. Kroeger?
Cali
f*** Yes. BUT.... If he's taking Betemit's spot on the team i.e. bench guy, than f*** NO. He needs to be STARTING EVERY DAY, not wasting away on the bench while Josh Fields swings through 89 mph fastballs
greg775
I'm surprised they didn't bring him up to start this series to face pitchers his own age. Would have been a nice start seeing the young pitchers 4 straight nights.
fathom
Play Beckham at 3rd, and DH Fields with Thome getting the game off.

greg775
I don't know why Oz needs to lose sleep on this. Pick either Fields or Getz to bench. I'd prefer benching Fields and putting Beckham there. But just do one of the two.

jenksycat
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 10:03 PM) So if he struggles his first week, how long until we hear about Joe Borchard and other failed prospects? This could be interesting. About the second he goes 1-10. This place is gonna be hilarious if he bombs.

spiderman
Unless he's going to play every day at 3B, I don't understand this move.
greg775
About the second he goes 1-10. This place is gonna be hilarious if he bombs. I'd think there'd be more blaming of Kenny for rushing him if that happens. Although we have a lot of people on here who assess batters' swings, etc. If he is showing some big perceived flaws in his stance, swing, approach, yes the anger will be out in full force. And the calling for Walker's head again. Actually the law of averages favor Beckham. How many of our new callups/guys acquired via trade do anything great right out of the gate?
