G&T
Interesting: Although many believe that the water in the hookah filters out all the "bad stuff" in the tobacco smoke, this isn't true. According to a World Health Organization advisory, a typical one-hour session of hookah smoking exposes the user to 100 to 200 times the volume of smoke inhaled from a single cigarette. Even after passing through water, tobacco smoke still contains high levels of toxic compounds, including carbon monoxide, heavy metals and cancer-causing chemicals (carcinogens). Hookah smoking also delivers significant levels of nicotine — the addictive substance in tobacco. Mayo Clinic Wite, you might want to find a better option. lostfan
QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:17 PM) The majority of ''hookah smokers'' in this country are non smokers, which i find laughable. Hookah smoke is worse for you than cigarettes by a large margin. If you do not condone cigarettes or any other form of smoking, you simply are going against your beliefs. Cigarettes are absolutely disgusting and it's addictive to boot, cigars are OK but they make my breath smell. I can't smoke weed. I'm aware that shisha smoke is not healthy, but I also don't do it often enough to hurt me, either. Maybe twice a year, tops.
witesoxfan
I have never actually felt as though I was ever satisfying a nicotine craving with hookah smoke. Not sure why. I may look for other alternatives. I might not. I'll just have to see.
