Dick Allen
Why is Cooper not getting any crap for Colon giving up all of these home runs? There are a lot of people on this board that make no sense. If the Sox offense is bad, its on the hitting coach. If they give up 6 runs in 5 innings, the pitching coach has nothing to do with it.

I'm with you DA, ultimately these guys are hitting the way they are because of the types of hitters they are, and probably a bit of anxiety and doing too much at the plate. Intangible problems that a hitting coach has no remedy for I'm all for Williams stepping down, however, as the players who are on the ML roster (outside of Beckham, who was a can't miss for whichever team grabbed him) are HIS players and scouted by HIS scouts
ThunderBolt
Ah, so this is Wes "The Walker" Whistler. I remember if from the minors, when he walked everybody, had s*** peripherals, but was called up anyway, because of his ERA.
maggsmaggs
Whisler is clearly not any good. That first out was a mirage, look at his AAA numbers and he had bad peripherals.

He has talent and baseball sense unlike most of his teammates. 3 outs on 3 pitches says a lot to question the baseball sense. There are a lot of people on this board that make no sense. If the Sox offense is bad, its on the hitting coach. If they give up 6 runs in 5 innings, the pitching coach has nothing to do with it. Because Coop has succeeded with a great number of our pitchers beyond their expectations (including a good deal of young guys) where Walker flat-out hasn't (including a good deal of young guys). Coop also has arguably the best 'pen in baseball right now. But really, to make it clear, if we were to fire both Coop would have another job in a week and Walker wouldn't.
