Chisoxfn
Leake's far better than Minor, but White has better upside. That said I like Leake more than most. Still, White has such a good arm.
ThunderBolt
Hah, the guy at the tigers table looks like Stanley from The Office
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:38 PM) i wouldn't be suprised to see Sheppers either. Scheppers ain't going here. Crow might, but I think they go with one of the prep arms, maybe White.
longshot7
Thank god I don't have to hear Selig pronounce Cincinnati again.
Palehosefan
If the Tigers get White, I'm going to be sick. He has fantastic stuff, just needs to refine it like Daniel Bard.

ThunderBolt
Tigers pick Jacob Turner. Bit of a suprise but a nice arm.
Palehosefan
UNC officially hates the Tigers now. First Porcello, and now Turner.
maggsmaggs
Glad they took Turner. He could be good, but I don't think he is going to be great. Played against weak competition -- very weak.

Paint it Black
I'm surprised how much Tyler Matzek is falling. Anyone else?
fathom
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:42 PM) Glad they took Turner. He could be good, but I don't think he is going to be great. Played against weak competition -- very weak. Yep, I'm happy they took him over Crow or White.
ThunderBolt
Strasburg is lucky he has so much talent, otherwise, he'd just be a really weird looking kid
BearSox
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:43 PM) I'm surprised how much Tyler Matzek is falling. Anyone else? Not really... he stated he wants to get record money for a high school player.
Chisoxfn
Turner is the top prep RHP in the country. Tigers got great value here but will have to pay a lot. The more MLB ready guys like Crow/Scheppers get past them though. The more of those guys fall, the more likely a team like the Cards takes one of them (or one of the top preps) giving the sox a shot at Brothers. ThunderBolt
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) Not really... he stated he wants to get record money for a high school player. It's very much like what happened with Denard Span in 2002. Do not be suprised to see Matzek plummet.

danman31
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) but I also don't think Gibson asks for as much money, imo. Pretty confident he won't. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) If the Tigers pick Crow, I will puke. I know, I was so happy to see the Tigers not take a Mizzou guy. ThunderBolt
This draft is shaping up to get really interesting directly after the A's pick. All hell is going to break lose.
BearSox
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) Nats selected Drew Storen. Wow, overdraft? No, they had to go cheap there, and Storen is a good arm.
dasox24
So much for us getting Storen at 23. He really rose up a lot in the last few days. And, btw, Dan mentioned it earlier, but the clapping after every pick is really annoying me.
