Chisoxfn
QUOTE (Seymizzle @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 09:52 AM) The quote sounds similar to what Maurice Gartell's coach said about him the year he was drafted. And he was another guy who really fell as a senior in college. He was supposed to have really solid tools all around but playing at a school not known for baseball really hurt him. Might be the case here as well, plus, a lot of college seniors will fall because they don't have the dazzle of a prep player or maybe a juco guy that still has a bit more "upside" so to speak. BearSox
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) Isn't it pretty pointless following rounds 31-50? It seems like these guys don't even sign anymore. Without the "draft and follow" option anymore, I'm surprised the draft is this long anymore. Agreed. It seems like the only players that would sign this late are College Seniors or High School players who don't want to go to college. Most college juniors who get drafted will probably opt to go back for their senior year to raise their draft value. Seastrunk for example, he'll likely head back to try and improve his catching ability. If he proves he can stay behind the plate, he could likely be a top 10 round pick next year. ThunderBolt
White Sox select another one of Kenny Williams' kids. What was the holdup? This one was Tyler a 3rd basemen. Edited June 11, 2009 by Thunderbolt
BearSox
Wow, looking at Casario's stats, he has some K concerns. Struck out over 60 times. However, I still like the pick as he seems like the type that can develop and maybe make it as a AAAA type of player or even a backup.
