chw42
I made predictions last year and we got swept. So, uh, yeah, I'm going to keep my mouth shut this time.
hogan873
In reality, I agree that the series is not as exciting as it used to be. It's just 6 games of the season. Of course there is some added excitement, and I hope the Sox sweep the Cubs.

chw42
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 09:56 AM) i had a dream that danks gives up 5 runs in 4 innings... That's not very MLK-like of you. It was supposed to be inspirational. "I had a dream, that Carlos Zambrano would beat up a Gatorade machine for a second time." Now that's more inspirational. bjm676
No Prediction - I'm just glad no Aramis Ramirez for the series.

"I had a dream, that Carlos Zambrano would beat up a Gatorade machine for a second time." southsideirish71
Beckham hits his first homer to right center field late in the game. Causing the bestest fans in the world to cry, pout and trash their shrine again with garbage. Cub fans, embracing the fail since 1908. NorthSideSox72
I predict that at some point during one of these three games, there may in fact be an alcohol-fueled fight somewhere in the stands. Bold, I know.

The Critic
I predict that I will see a total of 13 innings from the 3 games combined. I will intentionally fall asleep during tonight's game and unintentionally fall asleep in my recliner during the other two. (This prediction is based on normal weather - rain delays may increase or decrease the number of innings I sleep through)
Harry Chappas
QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) I predict that I will see a total of 13 innings from the 3 games combined. (This prediction is based on normal weather - rain delays may increase or decrease the number of innings I sleep through) Are you 80 years old? Two of the games are afternoon affairs. I think Zambrano rolls in game one and the next two the Sox should hit rather well. For some reason I think Lee and Bradley will have big series. Cubs win 7-1 Sox win 8-5 Game 3.....either Sox win 2-0 or lose 13-
The Critic
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 10:04 AM) Are you 80 years old? Two of the games are afternoon affairs. I wake up at 2:15 AM for work every day and do a fairly physical job, so I'm a little worn out when I get home. I don't anticipate the Cubs/Sox games being so exciting as to keep me awake. WinningUgly85
Cubs fired their hitting coach now they will just have an offensive explosion against our pitching with the Sox not able to capitalize with runners in scoring position...Greg Walker will still have a job. LOL
Shamrock4Life
that is Milton Bradley on opening day down here in Houston, yes I was at the game. But I believe the clip referenced is Bradley diving for a ball, then rolling, but in reverse. Danks with a no-no tonight.
Cali
Castro hits a home run. Jose has his worst start back from AAA but still gets the win. Gordo has a hell of a series. Getz hits a triple. Nix get a clutch pinch-hit at some point.
flavum
I also think Beckham is going to have his coming out party. He's due, and I think he'll rise to the occasion. I think his first career homer will be planted on Waveland.
shipps
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 08:06 AM) I wish Bradley would do his little cartwheel like he did in santa's avatar I did not know Santa posts here. That is f***ing awesome.

ILMOU
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) Cubs take 5 out of 6. Ouch babe. Sox take 4 of the six and avoid a selloff, which may well happen if we DO lose 5 of 6.
CanOfCorn
Ozzie and Lou go out for a night on the town drinking Corona's and Vodka's...during the game. Larry Rothschild hikes his uniform pants up to his neck, choking off blood to his brain and Big Z collapses like they are identical twins. Greg Walker and Von Joshua get into it before the game arguing who got more flack as White Sox hitting coach. Walk ultimately wins by lifting and pulling Joshua's jock up over his head. A shirtless, drunken Cubs fan fratboy declares, "I think I may actually like the White Sox more after this game!" The universe immediately blinks out of existence. RockRaines
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) Ouch babe. Sox take 4 of the six and avoid a selloff, which may well happen if we DO lose 5 of 6. Sorry, our team in a very unfriendly NL park spells disaster. Couple that with Contreras's terrible track record against the Cubs and we lose 2, maybe 3 at Wrigley.
ILMOU
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) Sorry, our team in a very unfriendly NL park spells disaster. Couple that with Contreras's terrible track record against the Cubs and we lose 2, maybe 3 at Wrigley. Cubs can't hit a lick right now. Our starters are beginning to roll. We win! harfman77
Soto goes off on the Sox in the way that Aramis Ramirez did last year, then continues to suck the rest of the season. Beckham has the best offensive and worst defensive series thus far, Contreras comes back to earth, Sox go 1-2 on the road and 2-1 at home.
