jerry takes alot of heat on this site for his decision making. i am guilty of beating on jerry.

however, give credit where its due. his decision to put daubach in the game chased cornejo. and his decision to pull DB in favor fo graff paid off.

also, his line-up today was brilliant.

i know folks will knock him for not being a fiery manager but he has his moments. and it would be unfair not to recognize them.

nice job jerry. :cheers

I totally disagree. Jerry Manuel is the reason why this sox have sucked most of this year. He makes horrible decisions as manager and is also way too mellow. Those moves that you have mentioned were good but i believe were mainly luck. Manuel tools with everything and eventually you will get something right. Manuel needs to learn how to stick with something that works and keep with it. As for his laid back attitude the only way i think that you can fix that is to light his ass on fire. Im sure that will do the trick. :lolhitting

the only beef i have with jm is the lack of a consistant lineup.......if we had one then im sure we would be alot better than we currently are.......

I don't think a consistent lineup does anything. I feel as long as a consistent routine is set, one in which the players know of and understand, you can go with different lineups.

as far as manuel's lineups? I don't agree with him totally as it isn't something I would do, but I don't think it is all to blame. most of it goes to our offense simply not hitting. the only way a bad offense can produce is when you have some speed in it, which we don't have, or at least use effectively.

Thank you. f*** Manuel. This game was won in the first f***ing inning. Nothing Jerry did, other than giving the same starting line-up con Graffe (which Sox fans here have been screaming about since mid-May), won this game. Had this game been a 5-4/5-3 game, Sox favor, going into the 7th inning, JM would have f***ed it up. GUARAN-f***ING-TEED! Give the team and Loaiza credit on this win. f*** JM. I mean..... TG, FT, MO, and PK were all possibilities to hit for the cycle. JM had absolutely NOTHING to do with it other than starting the same line-up we have been screaming for since May..... con Graffe..... and the only reason why JM started TG was because he is hot.

so jerry has nothing to do with it when the guys get hits and score runs....

but when they dont hit and score runs, he is a f***ing idiot.... thats BULLs***

you cant have it both ways

is...way too mellow.

How so? He's been ejected like 7-10 times this year defending his players and arguing possible bad calls. That's not mellow to me. Mellow to me is Tom Kelly, who got ejected I believe 4 of 5 times in like 15 years with Minnesota. That's mellow.

Those moves that you have mentioned were good but i believe were mainly luck.

You're right, if you look at it that way. I mean, at the very best, a guy is going to get a hit 1 out of 3 times against a guy, and that's usually at the very best. However, there are exceptions, and on both sides of the coin. For instance, Frank Thomas is like 6 for 10 or 7 for 11 career against Eddie Guardado...he almost always kills him, or so it seems. Then again, it's kind of hard to explain how Maggs is like a career .200 hitter off of Joe Mays.

Fact is, JM does go for the matchups and he does manage by the book most of the time....he just does it too much.

Manuel tools with everything and eventually you will get something right

Duh. That's his plan. I bet tomorrow you'll see Frank DHing and Kong playing 1B, with Maggs in RF, and it wouldn't surprise me if Rowand was in too.

Manuel needs to learn how to stick with something that works and keep with it.

Why would you want to stick with something that doesn't work consistently? I mean, you never really did see a lineup with different people in it during the stretch against the Scrubs and Twinks. You may have seen a different lineup, but for the most part, the same people were in it each day. The fact remains that this is a team that is well-known to be inconsistent but potent. It seems one day we score 2 runs, the next we score 8, the next we score 1, and the next we score 10. You try to figure this lineup out.

As for his laid back attitude the only way i think that you can fix that is to light his ass on fire

Like I said above, he's been ejected 7-10 times this year. He's been far from laid-back.

I'm not a backer of JM, but accuse him fairly. A consistent lineup would be nice, but it is hard for him to do that, because not only has our offense not been consistent, but we have too many guys that like need to start, and not enough guys that can handle a utility/backup role. According to me, we have 3 of those types of players - Sandy Alomar, Tony G, and Harris(and I put Harris in this category because he can do numerous things well because he has good speed). It's like I've said before....we need to trade 2 guys to create more room for role-players. My vote goes for Konerko and Lee....Lee I know we can trade, because he is affordable and has shown that he has hit some this year, and Konerko, hell, I'd do a Benetiz-type trade for him(get little in return if the team that trades for him takes on some of his contract). I'd also like a set bullpen, a bullpen where guys know what they are going to do. The only guys who know what they do are Gordon and Marte.

Ummmmm..... let's see..... JM has started the same line-up the last 3-4 games and we win 3 out of our last 4. Posters here have been screaming for a consistent line-up since f***ing May..... AT THE VERY LEAST..... now we get one, and the White Sox are 3-1. Ok. Just to make you happy..... YEAH JM!!!!!

So Manuel only has something to do with the outcome of the game when the Sox lose?

That's fair and makes perfect sense

Heh, have you not seen this team this season? If we would just have a .500 record against teams like the Tigers, we'd be leading the division. It's the Tigers, Indians, Devil Rays, etc that have seemingly killed us.
