Balta1701
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 05:58 PM) I'd be really hesitant to include our 2010 1st rounder. If Boozer goes down for a prolonged period, we'll be scoring 70 points a game and that will be quite the pick. Good point. How's this: If it's Bayless coming back, then top 3-4 protected. If it's anyone else, then Lottery protected.
SoxFan1
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 08:02 PM) Lottery protect it. But would Utah take that?
SoxFan1
Adrian Wodzenkerekowoski from Yahoo's Twitter: Bulls haven’t had a “single conversation” about a 3-way deal Blazers and “have nothing going” with Utah about Boozer, Bulls source tells Y!. Of course they haven't, it makes sense and makes the team better, so they won't consider it. I really hate this front office sometimes. Stop sitting on your damn hands. BearSox
The only consolation for this front office being so bad (at least IMO) is that because of the suckage, we got Derrick Rose.

I know, but if they didn't completely suck at drafting and bringing in players, we would have probably never been bad enough to even have a slight chance of getting the no. 1 pick. Balta1701
Random question on a different subject. Does anyone out there look at all the money Dallas has spent this offseason and think "There's a legit title contender"?

There's no sexual harassment suit or Jerome James contract yet, but there's some legit parallels to the Knicks a few years ago. "Gortat? Had some good playoffs. $40 million." MHizzle85
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) But as a fan don't you want a team capable of winning more games? No, I like Boozer on this team. I really do. I just don't like the fact that we'd be giving up a good defender/back up PG. Tyrus I won't miss too much. Well other than the time I ran into him at Woodfield Mall. But still. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) Random question on a different subject. Marion was a good add but can they hang with the other elite teams in the West?

Does anyone out there look at all the money Dallas has spent this offseason and think "There's a legit title contender"? Nope, the Lakers are better. I think the Spurs are poised to do better with their recent signings. If the Nuggets can play the way they did at the end of the year I say they're better than the Mavericks. And that's just the West. I don't even need to mention the Cavs, Celtics, Magic, etc. Edited July 10, 2009 by WilliamTell

If Marion is very effective and Gortat isn't terrible, they might be in the middle of the pack in the West. But they're a year older, they're relying on a 36 year old Point Guard, Nowitzki is a FA next offseason, I'm just not sure how spending all that money makes any sense. WilliamTell
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) The latest by Nike: "We confiscated the tapes because it's against the rules of our camp to film and besides, Crawford was wearing Adidas shoes." Does that mean Adidas are better shoes and I can dunk on LeBron if I wear Adidas? haha

Palehosefan
Portland is coming off of 54 wins and is a year older, I think they will be legit contenders for a title. I can't imagine that team if they can put together some of the spare parts for a better PG option. Steve Blake is ok, but definitely the weak link in the lineup. Dreams of Lebron, Bosh and Wade will probably go unfulfilled for Chicago in '10. Besides, I'd rather have Lee than Bosh anyway. He'd be cheaper and he gets the same amount of boards. Plus he's not a particularly good defender and will be making 3 times as much as Noah in about a year.

ZoomSlowik
QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 11:24 PM) Exactly what I was thinking. Take him out of that high paced gimmick offensive system and his rebounding totals will go way down. I would say his scoring goes down, his rebounding is legitimately good. No way he'd be getting 12 shots and that high number of easy looks in a normal system. He averaged about 11 and 9.5 over the two years pre-D'Antoni ball, that seems like a safe guess for his true value. If Noah plays 30 MPG, Lee probably gets you one more bucket inside per game with less help defense.
