Phil Jackson was the only coach they paid and that was because they had no choice but to pay him. I don't think they hired Vinny to fire him in 2 years. I think Scott, having done what he did with Chris Paul, and that he's a well-liked and successful coach, would be the prime candidate. From what I remember didn't Paxson tell Collins the job was his until Reinsdorf put the axe on it? Same with D'Antoni if I'm not mistaken. I think D'Antoni was more of the Bulls not wanting to pay him. I think if you're gonna give the great GM duo the blame, Reinsdorf has to take his share as well. I won't go as far as to say that Reinsdorf cares less about the Bulls but he deserves a great deal of blame for holding onto Krause too long and for failing to hold Paxon accountable for his recent failures. I believe Collins was the other way round...they offered him the job, he took a couple days stewing on it, while the offer was out there the press learned of it and reported Collins would be the next coach, and then while that happened Collins decided he didn't want to coach. McGrady was sent home before the Rockets game against New Jersey last week after complaining about playing time. McGrady missed the first 23 games of the season while recovering from microfracture knee surgery. McGrady averaged 3.2 points in 7.7 minutes in six games with Houston this season but is expected to be a sought after commodity because of his $23 million expiring contract, the highest salary in the NBA this season. It is likely that McGrady will return to Chicago to work out with trainer Tim Grover, who helped McGrady rehab his knee in the offseason.
