southsider2k5
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) KC Johnson on twitter: Bulls management has told Salmons to remain at team hotel as it works to finalize a trade. Won't play vs. Knicks. Sweet. Dump that player option.
WHarris1
Yup, please completely eliminate the nightmare scenario of him opting in
Chisoxfn
Salmons going (as long as the Bulls get an expiring back) would assure the team that they'll have at least enough cap room to offer one max contract. Sounds like the deal might be with Orlando with JJ Reddick and fillers.
chw42
Salmons wasn't doing much anyways. It frees up money and we can get something of okay value in return. Nice.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) Gotta love the Celtics getting Nate Robinson. One of the most unlikeable teams ever adds another piece of s***. yeah, but they traded away a piece of s***, so it evens out

The Wizards also will receive Brian Skinner(notes) and Al Thornton(notes) from the Los Angeles Clippers. The Cavaliers will get point guard Sebastian Telfair(notes) from the Clippers. The Wizards will send Drew Gooden(notes) to the Clippers.
Balta1701
Well, no Amare to the Cavs then.

Cowch
I feel bad for Gooden, that dude's been traded many, many times. Now Gooden and Baron Davis can grow beards together. Poor Clippers.

Isn't it all about the expiring contracts for the Clips. They want to make a push at Lebron and with Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin they actually have a pretty nice group of young guys. DBAHO
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Salmons going (as long as the Bulls get an expiring back) would assure the team that they'll have at least enough cap room to offer one max contract. Sounds like the deal might be with Orlando with JJ Reddick and fillers. I know Chicago would love to do that deal because JJ's deal is up at the end of the season (he wants about 4/20 in the off-season also), but I just can't see the Magic doing that deal. They've already got enough 3's in Barnes, Pietrus etc. and they probably need to cut salary if anything, which if they just let Redick go in the off-season they can probably do. And Redick's become a pretty integral part of the Magic's rotation (he plays a lot in the 4th Q), so I don't know if the Magic want to mess with that when they think they can still win the whole thing. Although with the Cavs getting Jamison (who will clog the lane up far less for Lebron than Amare would have), it's going to be very tough to beat them in the East. Quin
I liked Salmons, but I like this trade for the Bulls. Jamison to the Cavs is confusing from the Clips perspective. They gained Drew Gooden...and that's it. But they gave up a lot to get him. I like Jamison, but I wouldn't mind him tanking and his contract handicapping the Cavs. Now, the TT saga continues. WHarris1
I don't give a damn who we got, Salmons had s*** for value. His contract needed to be moved to eliminate all risk of him opting in this summer. Solid deal, nothing to complain about.
DBAHO
Thomas is a decent backup center as well, even though he's pretty old now. Gives the Bulls some insurance in case they move Miller and TT in that T-Mac deal.
