If we DO win the lottery, and get any of the top 3 picks, we lose our ability to sign a max free agent in the offseason, first and foremost. 2nd, you're forced to pick Wall if you have the top pick and then you have to make it work with him and Rose.

Actually, this sorta depends on how low the cap drops. If it's $52 million, you'd be ok with anything other htan the #1 pick cap hold. If it's $50 million, then you're in trouble.

Rumors going around that T-Mac is going to retire at the end of the season.

Quite sad if it's true for me personally, as he's been my favourite player for the past few years. Don't think there has been a better natural scorer in the NBA since MJ than T-Mac argubly (Kobe and Lebron his main contenders), although I think Durant has taken that crown now.

He probably never should have been traded from Orlando, if it wasn't for a hockey executive who became the GM of the Magic for a few months.

He probably never should have signed in Orlando.

Are you saying that because you're a Bulls fan? :P

Orlando's his home-town, and if it wasn't for Grant Hill's injury, that team could have made it into a finals series possibly. In Chicago, he would have been playing with Curry and Chandler, who have turned out to be massive busts.

And Theo Ratliff for that matter.

I'd never rule it out with AI, but he's got a LOT of personal issues he's got to deal with, and they've got some young guards that they want to develop.

If anything, they should bring back that Di Leo guy who took pretty much the same roster to the playoffs a season ago, think he's the director of basketball operations or some fancy job title like that now.

Recap of the Cavs v. Bulls this year:

Game One = win 86-85 @ Cleveland (and that with a hobbled D-Rose, Cavs fully healthy)

Game Two = loss 101-87 @ Cleveland (w/out Hinrich/Tyrus Thomas, Cavs fully healthy)

Game Three = Loss 92-85 @ Chicago (No Rose, no Shaq)

Game Four = Win 109-108 @ Chicago (No Shaq/Lebron, Bulls at full health)

Based on this, you could argue had both teams been fully healthy, they still would have split the season series. Bulls likely would have lost the last game against Cleveland when the Cavs rested Lebron, but the Bulls probably would haev won the third game between the teams when the Bulls didn't have Rose. This series will be a lot closer than people think, kinda like last year. I see the Bulls taking them to six while playing tight ball games all the way through. There is no doubt that they will come hard every night, especially with Noah's enegry/vocal leadership and Rose's silent leadership of just taking over games.

I can't believe people would be rooting against the Bulls. If we miss the playoffs and don't get a top pick, MIL swaps with us and we're a f***ed non-playoff team with the 18th pick.

If we DO win the lottery, and get any of the top 3 picks, we lose our ability to sign a max free agent in the offseason, first and foremost. 2nd, you're forced to pick Wall if you have the top pick and then you have to make it work with him and Rose. And IMO, Wall is pretty overrated anyway. I think Turner is the best player in this draft. See: Oden, Durant.

Third, we made the playoffs and now we have the opportunity for Rose, Noah, Gibson, and others get valuable playoff experience. We saw Rose take it to another level last year in the playoffs. He's not guided this team to the playoffs in both his first 2 seasons.

Do I expect to beat Cleveland? Not at all. Do I expect us to put up a fight? Of course. There is no possible way the Bulls MISSING the playoffs helps the team.

Wall isn't overrated as a NBA prospect neither was/is Oden, now if you're going to predict a Wall injury than that's fine but otherwise he's the best prospect in this draft. Don't get me wrong, I love Evan Turner and think he's going to be quite the NBA player but he'd be 3rd on my personal draft board behind Wall and Cousins, he's just not as good a prospect as either of those guys.

Anyways, I agree with the rest of your post though, like I said earlier, this Bulls team is fighting for the 5th spot if Noah didn't miss that month and that's not even including the other injuries. I agree with Brian, I see us losing in 6 and wouldn't be surprised if we take it to 7. We're not going to win it but it will be a good series and there's no way in hell we get swept.

So you're saying Oden isn't good because of injury? And that if he never suffered injuries in the NBA, he'd be better than Kevin Durant?

I'm saying that Oden would be a game changer right now if he didn't keep getting injured. He was turning into one hell of a player before he got hurt once again this season. Would he be better than Durant? Hell no but he certainly would be one hell of a valuable asset and would have Portland as one heck of a dangerous team in the playoffs.

Can't fault Portland for taking Oden, though. Some are actually comparing it to Bowie over MJ. Which is ridiculous. Oden was projected to be a better version of Dwight Howard by most.

Agreed though he "could had been." It's sad when people are already writing off Blake Griffin after one season of not playing., You just can't do that yet. And yes, Wall is a stud. I still have Turner as my #1 personally as I think he becomes the better pro, but Wall has the higher upside if he pans out. When coaches like Roy Williams call you the best PG prospect he's ever seen since Kidd 20 years ago, you are no slouch.

But he's a clipper. I wrote him off the moment they won the lottery, for crying out loud.

No doubt he will get his. Your right though you can't let guys like Mo Williams, West, etc.. beat you.

Mo Williams was quite bad last year in the playoffs, was he not?

Or he was against Orlando, if I remember.

Simple thing with Mo, if you don't hear that stupid Godfather music, he's not that playing that well.

But Rafer Alston argubly beat him in our series with the Cavs last season for sure.
