southsider2k5
Maybe the Sox have been looking in the wrong places for a lucky talisman. They are now 7-1 when Aaron Rowand bats in the No. 2 slot. ... Bartolo Colon has lost his last four decisions. Frank Thomas is hitting .140 in his last 12 games as Konerko gets most of the time at first. clujer420
Do you know if that .140 in the last 12 games includes his 3-4 day on Sunday? If not, ouch. If so, double ouch. Put him back at 1B and see what happens.
Chisoxfn
Right now I think its better playing Konerko the majority of the time at first base. I also heard that Thomas had a knee injury and requested to be the DH for a bit. I'd probably play Thomas at 1st 2 days a week, Konerko 4 days a week and Daubber one day a week. Ah yes, forgot about Thomas' request. Strike my "move him back to 1B" comment. But, when his knee is 100%, he should go right back there. Chisoxfn
I wouldn't play him everyday. PK is the better defender. I think having Thomas play consistently 2 to 3 times a week should be enough to keep his mind fresh. Neither of them have good range and Thomas is a fine fielding first baseman, but when it comes to turning the double play from first, no one does it like Paulie. I don't think I'd play him EVERY day either, but I'd say if we play 6 games in a week, he should be over there for AT LEAST 4 of them, if not 5. You saw what he did when JM moved him over there in June. He got his average up to almost .290 (up like 30 or 40 points), and he was putting up some pretty big numbers. I think the offensive output increase more than makes up for the defense we lose by putting him there in place of PK.
Chisoxfn
Ya, but I think just having him play their a few games is all he needs a week. I think it was the fact that he would go a month without playing first base that made him start double thinking his hitting.
