scenario
Charlotte leading Buffalo 7-5 in the top of the 9th. Another very good start for Egbert: 6 innings; 1 run on 5 hits; 5 K's and 0 BB's. Brandon Allen stays hot... going 3-5 with a homerun and 3 RBI's. Omogrosso with another tough outing from the pen, only lasts 2/3 of an inning... gives up 2 runs on 3 hits before being replaced. ThunderBolt
Link was hit around a bit, but they locked it down. Nice win for Charlotte as The Brandon Allen Good Times Tour continues.
flavum
Great numbers for Jack Egbert as a starter this season. Maybe he's just better suited to pitch every 5th game.
JPN366
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 05:06 PM) Great numbers for Jack Egbert as a starter this season. Maybe he's just better suited to pitch every 5th game. He's definitely not a reliever, his stuff is more suited for starting.
scenario
The only other game tonight is Birmingham @ Mississippi. W-S and Kanny have a couple of days off due to their respective league all-star games. But tomorrow both Bristol and Great Falls play their first games of the season! SoxAce
Omogrosso really struggling in AAA.
Cali
Allen's gotta be coming up soon, especially if Paulie's thumb is more injured than the Sox are saying... The timing of him being promoted to AAA at the same time of Paulie jamming that thumb can't just be a coincidence....
Balta1701
QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) Allen's gotta be coming up soon, especially if Paulie's thumb is more injured than the Sox are saying... The timing of him being promoted to AAA at the same time of Paulie jamming that thumb can't just be a coincidence.... Actually it could be, didn't B-Ham just wrap up its playoff spot right at the time all those promotions happened?
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 07:33 PM) Omogrosso really struggling in AAA. He's only pitched twice, I wouldn't worry too much just yet. Remember also, he's now in the pen, even though he was starting previously at AA, so he's got that transition to make as well. bighurt4life
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 06:21 PM) Actually it could be, didn't B-Ham just wrap up its playoff spot right at the time all those promotions happened? Yes, there were promotions across all levels of our minor league system when Allen got moved up. It was completely a coincidence. He's not ready for the majors yet and should spend at least a half season in AAA. Probably will get some AB's as a sept callup but he needs to get his AB's in AAA before we can start anointing him as our future 1b.

dasox24
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) Not last year, I knew the Barons roster almost a week ahead of time. I think he just meant for the rookie league teams since they're especially known for not having rosters up until the 1st game, mainly b/c of all the signings that happen in that short time after the draft, before the rookie leagues start. ThunderBolt
Barons lose 3-2. Shirek was okay, giving up too many hits, but escaping a lot of the damage. Another nice showing from Nunez in relief.
