The Dodgers are the reason why our stadium was originally built with ugly ass blue seats. He have to hate them.

Plus they already did this in 2005 - with the same uniforms and the same '59 Sox players. It as very cool then - now it was just a repeat. AJ should wear that uni every day though.

Finally admitted what most people here called months ago.. though I still love that quote toward the end of it... Ozzie is brutally honest.. and hilarious.

But, Alexei is playing his first year at the big league SS position. He did real good last year at 2B, which was not his "natural position". Alexei for all his talent is still learning at the big league level. I have seen some plays where he is absolutely incredible and then he blows easy ones. It is concentration he needs to work on and work hard all the time. This is Ozzie's way to motivate Ramirez I think.

Think about it, SS is Alexei's natural spot and he's been playing quite poorly over there. However, 2B is not his natural position, and he played great over there... I'm starting to think while SS is his "natural" spot, he's at his best either at 2B or in the OF.

I seem to recall hearing that whole natural spot thing was fallacy. I think Cubano or someone did the homework and showed he barely sniffed SS in Cuba and played far more in the outfield than anything else. I may be mistaken, though.

No I remember that too. It was basically a conscious effort on the part of him and his agent to maximize his value by marketing him as a SS. SS > OF.

I thought it was modeled after Yankee Stadium? Since JR was from New York....

Anyways, I think the Clayton Richard rotation experiment is over. I gave him the benefit of the doubt after those good few starts, but I mean anyone can look dominant against the Pirates. Aaron Poreda needs to move into the 5th slot with Clayton back into the pen and Gobble gone forever...

I thought it was Royal Stadium.....

I also thought the Cubano thing was for international play and that he was a SS for the Cuban league. He was brought in to play CF by the Sox not short with the idea of extending OC. I think he is back in CF soon.

I actually wonder whether or not KW and therefore Ozzie are afraid to use Poreda in a key situation because they want him to put up some inflated numbers pitching in garbage time, raising his trade value.

Anyways, all I see Ozzie saying in this is that Alexei needs to step his s*** up. He has big expectations for him, and he's not living up to them yet. Alexei's never going to be as good as Ozzie was defensively, but he can probably be an average shortstop.

This is totally a Cooper thing. They do like to bring guys in at a specific pace, and if at all possible, set them up to succeed in as many situations as possible.
