Brian
This series is showing why we won't win the division. Bad defense and dumb mistakes.

fathom
You have to walk Lee here and hope to get Fox out.
greg775
Why didn't Mark just flip it over to Paulie when he saw he was about to commit a balk? His vision certainly saw Pauley over in the vicinity.
Balta1701
How do you not walk Lee here?
southsider2k5
That was an interesting play. Konerko showed an open mitt to MB, which ususally is the sign to throw over at second base. I don't think he meant to do that.
JorgeFabregas
0-1 pitch looked like a strike.
Balta1701
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 27, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) Why didn't Mark just flip it over to Paulie when he saw he was about to commit a balk? His vision certainly saw Pauley over in the vicinity. Was Paul ready for it? He could easily have missed it too.

Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 27, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) Was Paul ready for it? He could easily have missed it too. A lob would have sufficed. Could you just launch the ball at the ground? Really, I don't know.

fathom
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 27, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) 0-1 pitch looked like a strike. But the "classy" Lee argued the first pitch, and helped him on the 2nd pitch.
greg775
True, but I meant just flip it over to Paulie where he was standing.

southsideirish71
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 27, 2009 -> 04:31 PM) Why didn't Mark just flip it over to Paulie when he saw he was about to commit a balk? His vision certainly saw Pauley over in the vicinity. Because it was a blind pick off move. He is looking at home plate when he starts his move, when he looks over to pick up his target its hard to mid stream throw against the grain to where Paulie was. southsider2k5
I believe you have to throw the ball to first base, not to the first baseman twenty feet away.
