Am I the only one who heard this news and immediately asked "Who?"

I didn't quite ask "who", but instead "Is that the guy from the Fast and Furious movies? Is there a picture of him?".

I have never actually seen anything he's been in, so I wasn't 100% sure. My friends at the bar were awfully upset about it. Then we went to a party afterwards and everyone there was talking about it. I guess I must be the only person in their 20's who hasn't seen those movies.

I used to despise Tatum until 21 Jump Street. He was phenomenal in that (that whole movie was something everyone including me thought were be absolutely awful and turned out to be one of the funniest movies out there). This is the End confirmed he's the coolest guy ever.

I wouldn't say I despised Tatum, but I definitely rolled my eyes any time girls wept over him like they do with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Then I saw 21 Jump Street and became a fan of his. And then yes, he was funny in his This is The End cameo too. He just seems like a really cool and fun guy that chicks can drool over and guys can want to hang out with. Similar to Justin Timberlake in that way.

Aside from the Fast and Furious movies, I remember him in Pleasantville, Varsity Blues, She's All That and Eight Below.

Into the Blue is an awesome cheesy movie if you want to see Jessica Alba in her prime and wearing only bikinis for pretty much the entire film.

And Eight Below is a seriously underrated movie, although it's a Disney flick, but they usually put out pretty decent (albeit predictable/formulaic) films. (Not to be confused with Cuba Gooding's Snow Dogs). More than Marley & Me, that's the definitive movie for dog lovers to identify with and get a bit teary-eyed when watching.

I'm thinking of watching Running Scared....seen a few positive comments about that one here. Is that a remake of the Billy Chrystal/Gregory Hines 1980's film?

He has two movies coming out in the next 3-4 months....one, an indie movie set with the Hurricane Katrina backdrop, titleed HOURS, will come out in mid December. I'm pretty sure the other one has a mid February release.

Now that you mention it, I did see that movie. I forgot that Paul Walker was in it.

We actually owned a husky when that came out and took our kids to the theater to see it.

Our husky passed away a few years ago and my wife still gets a little teary-eyed when she sees another one. Now she’ll probably never watch that movie again since she was a big Paul Walker fan as well.

I know most of you are gonna go "WHO?!" but Dick Dodd former Mouseketeer and drummer/singer for The Standells died. The Standells recorded a garage classic "Dirty Water" which they play after Red Sox wins at Fenway. Curiously the Standells were from southern Cal and when the record was recorded had never even ever been to Boston.

Everyone in Chicago over the age of 40 knows this guy. Guy was the morning and afternoon DJ for a while on WLS.

I remember one afternoon I was driving somewhere and he played a new song "Star Baby" by the Guess Who. He liked it so much he just kept playing it over and over and nothing else for the remainder of my drive.

I don't know. A world without his beautiful creations is a world I don't want to live in.

I think my pops still has the one he took off a Vietcong he took out back in the days. He actually preferred that to his M-16. That's some treasonous s***.

Agreed. He revolutionized weapons. The durable, all weather, easy to maintain and repair rifle.

That nobody since has been able to improve other than cheap knockoffs that use factors outside the design of the weapon to lower its already ridiculously low price.

I was thinking about that this morning when I was cleaning my AK 47 on the bus. When I walk home from work with it hanging from my shoulder, nobody messes with me. All those other people just walking around without one must live a scared existence.

Some people may think that a 5 year old being thrown off a building by his father because of a messy divorce or an 11 year old being killed when the vehicle he is riding in is hit by a carjacker is a far sadder death than someone who was 94 years old and led a full life. But I'm with you.

To be totally frank, while those are some regrettable things that happened, Mikhail Kalashnikov reached into my life and made it better. The 5 year old and 11 year old were very unlikely to give me something I enjoy as much as the AK-47.

NOW THAT DOESNT MEAN THEY DESERVED TO DIE. OK? WE CLEAR ON THAT?

But, I care more about a great inventor who changed the world than anonymous people I've never (and probably never would have) even met.
