whitesoxbrian
I didn't see this anywhere so... CLEVELAND -- With the non-waiver trading deadline one month away, teams are expected to increase their evaluations and discussions. And even after White Sox general manager Ken Williams said last week he intends to remain a buyer, it won't stop other teams, such as San Francisco, from scouting Sox players who can help them for their own playoff runs. The Giants, who currently lead the National League wild-card race, sent one of their top scouts to Cleveland on Monday night to watch right fielder Jermaine Dye. whitesoxbrian
QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) Sanchez and Lewis please. That. I love Lewis. He has so much potential.

whitesoxbrian
QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:15 PM) I thought so too, but he's 29 years old. Well, their best hitting prospect is Buster Posey, and he's untouchable. Therefore, I'd settle with Sanchez and Tim Alderson. He's one of their better pitching prospects and he's only 21. knightni
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 10:20 PM) Not sure I would want to trade our DH next year. Filling the DH spot is the easiest thing a GM can do.

BearSox
Wonder if we could get Connor Gillaspie back in a trade... Good 3B, real good hitter. His only real negative is lack of power.
Buehrle>Wood
I assume signing Dye would cost us a draft pick. Either way it's not worth trading him.
WCSox
If the Sox continue to play like this, JD ain't going anywhere.
BearSox
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) I assume signing Dye would cost us a draft pick. Either way it's not worth trading him. The common assumption is that Dye won't get Arb because no team will want to pay him 10-12 million if he accepts.

Jordan4life_2007
The Giants are oozing with impact prospects throughout their system. Unfortunately, I don't see any realistic matches. Let's just hope we're well within the playoff hunt come the trade deadline and this all becomes moot.

Just an FYI, but aside from Gordon Beckham, ALderson would be the best prospect in our system and he's one of the elite pitching prospects in all of baseball. The youngest player in AA too, IIRC. WHy would they have to send a scout to look at Dye? Doesn't EVERYBODY know everything there is to know about Dye? He's a stud.
