fathom
I'd like to say that Nix throws the ball probably 25 pct harder on the double play relay than Alexei does.

fathom
Excellent, the first two games have been a prime example of one team playing well while the other team is struggling.

greg775
Olivo bailed Linebrink out right there. That's kind of a dumb statement IMO. Give Liney credit as much as Olivo f***ing up.
beautox
sox winner, royals make it interesting late in the game but we come out with the shut out 7 in a row, nice work guys!
chw42
7 in a row! Linebrink looked really rusty and got away with it. Danks was owning once again. 14.1 scoreless in his last 2 starts. Another good win against the best pitcher in the AL. Good stuff.
greg775
Man, they packed the stadium and couldn't do s*** against Johnny and Liney. Great win. Danks does it the night after Mark. Two lefties in a row handcuff the Royals. Let's take 3 of 4 or all 4.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) That's kind of a dumb statement IMO. Give Liney credit as much as Olivo f***ing up. Um, no. Olivo bailed him out. That was ball 4 all the way.
Princess Dye
Since my Line-uh-stink thing got called out I'm kind of glad he at least backed me up a little with some jittery near A-bomb moments
southsider2k5
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) This is a save situation, isn't it? Liney got his second save of the year.
greg775
Since my Line-uh-stink thing got called out I'm kind of glad he at least backed me up a little with some jittery near A-bomb moments You guys are a tough crowd. All that matters are results. He needs to get ahead of the hitters in the future or he'll be ultimately f***ed, but he also did the job tonight. Olivo doesn't take walks; he has hit 11 or 12 bombs. He's a free swinger.
sam785
Sox win...again! thankfully the defense bailed out Linebrink, I get nervous every time he enters the game, even if his era is below 3.

High Mileage
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) I was quite surprised at how bad they were last night. Terrible approaches at bat, terrible base running, terrible fielding. They are just a bad team. You shouldn't be surprised. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 07:50 PM) I bet Callaspo could be had for cheap tomorrow. That was a real bad mental error. He does it often. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:31 PM) Greinke at 2+ ERA for the first time all season... Even 2.00 on the season now... QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:45 PM) Grienke is done for the night! The offense is coming around nicely as we have put it on both Cliff Lee and Zach Grienke in the last few days. It is amazing how we struggled against Chen, but just kicked Greinke around the park. Only 82 pitches too. I guess they decide not to overuse a starter for once. Podsednik and Beckham had nice gap shot doubles, Konerko with the opposite field bloop, and Pierzynski with the homer. I wouldn't say they kicked him around the park, just read his fastball well. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) Here's one more for ya... Greinke soon to be 5-9 career against the White Sox, which is the most losses against any one team he has in his career so far. Yet he's 4-4 against the Sox since he's been back. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Royals had one good month where everybody got excited. Now they are wondering if the team will keep losing at this alarming rate the final 12 weeks. I won't be surprised if they do. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) They need to stop wondering. Just look at their everyday lineup. Disgusting. Exactly. Too many below average players on the roster. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) They have a couple guys (Including Gordon) coming back from the DL soon that will help. We've only got Gordon, Buck, and Farnsworth coming back. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:31 PM) Yes, but they had Aviles, who is out for year and Gordon who had hip surgery. Also Soria was out a long time when all the losing started. ALso Crisp is out for the year and John Buck got hurt as well and is out. This is true. Sadly, I had no faith that the game wasn't over when Pierzynski made it 1-0 with his homer. This "offense" is a complete joke, and the "defense" is almost as bad.
