I have never been a part of Facebook, I was a myspace guy but then that got old really quick and I refuse to do Facebook.

Facebook >>>>> Myspace

I use facebook to keep in touch with friends from high school and college. Also play poker. Myspace is spam.

Can I just post an RSS to Lostfans page? :)

:lolhitting

Over time people grew to expect the outlandish s*** I put up there and they complain if I go more than a day without updating. Current status: "doesn't Miss Mary Mack come back today? Or actually the elephants?"

Facebook has become a great tool to connect with customers. Amazing the friendships that form. But some companies are afraid of technology, it can be abused. I know of one that blocked email :lolhitting

We had it open for a while because people stated what a wonderful tool it was and how it could help our business. Then we got complaint after complaint of employees goofing off. The people who were clamoring for it for the most part, were spending 90% of their time keeping their friends in the know and not doing their job. So we made a company decision to block it, and only allow it to those who demonstrate restraint and that will use it for business use.

People are too stupid with great tools. It would slow down production to a crawl if people are on facebook playing mafia wars, growing lil green patches, poking people, sending bumper stickers, sharing photos, tagging photos, arranging photobooks, becoming a King with people, playing word games, sending "flair"...........

and connecting to customers.

I've stopped sending them for the most part now.

Until they get to the next level and get newer ones, I have no reason to post them.

There was some guy I worked with that wanted email banned. He was old and couldn't really figure how to use it, so it took him forever to get anything done, and would send out emails to lists of people on accident. Dude wanted to go back to paper pushing. He retired.

Fax machines and the stupid jokes that got faxed everywhere

eMail and the jokes that got emailed everywhere + spam

IM for no reason

Yep, they all should have been stopped, but they eventually became indispensable.

If your salesperson is playing mafia wars with your biggest customer, does it strengthen or weaken the relationship? Cheaper than taking him for a round of golf, dinner, Sox game, etc.

my company has facebook, I have about 4 mil in poker chips, own several casino's and I'm generally considered a big deal in mafia wars....if they were smart they would ban it.

I generally meant dumb comments from "friends" you have. Dumb update statuses.....

Yeah, I noticed that this thread took a wrong turn from where you intended it to go. Comments/statuses written on facebook, not about facebook, right?
