So is Big Hurt a masher. I was just asking a question of why is Hurt out of baseball and Thome still in?

You can't tell me Hurt wouldn't hit 20-30 home runs if he played as much as Jimmy. Jimmy better heat up if he wants to hit 25-30 dingers this year.

I said I like Thome, but he cannot run a lick. You got to admit he is probably the slowest man in baseball right now.

I don't know why Thomas is out of baseball. Health? Money? Who knows. Has nothing to do with the fact Jim Thome is still one of the most productive DH's in the AL.

Does Thome have the same foot problems as Thomas? No. Has Thome put up better numbers over the past three years than Thomas? yes.

I know this is late but well deserved all star selection for Buehrle.

Wouldnt he be able to pitch just one inning? When is the usual bullpen day, 2 or 3 days after a start?

Cowley wrote that the day of the All-Star game would be his normal bullpen day so he would be able to throw an inning or so.

Just remember that bullpens are typically thrown at 75%-80% intensity, pitching in a game is very different and would be a departure from his regular recovery. As a pitcher, this would sometimes delay my recovery when I would pitch in a game between starts.
