Kenny Hates Prospects
Felix Pie for Fields? Come the f*** on. Just DFA Fields if that's the case. Per MLBTR.
ThunderBolt
I like Felix Pie. I don't like this trade.
southsider2k5
Seriously? Why read the tabloids?
Mr. Showtime
Not exactly the best source there clearly, what the hell do we need Pie for? Sounds like a bunch of BS. No worries.

Kenny Hates Prospects
MLBTR doesn't make s*** up. Other writers do, and they report it. This is from the Baltimore Sun.
SoxFan1
I would have been all over this in Spring Training probably.
fathom
Pie is not very good. This would be selling very low on Fields.
Melissa1334
i was ecstatic when the cubs got rid of him bcuz i was tired of the media talking about him and his struggles..and to think he might come here? ugh
Flash Tizzle
I'm just going to assume this is nothing more than someone suggesting a trade of those two players, and MLBTR looking too far into it. It'd be completely indefensible move. And not even "this must be a precursor to another move" crowds could justify it, because really, there's no way it's a precursor to anything but throwing Pie on the bench or down to Charlotte. Kenny Hates Prospects
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles...0,5313097.story According to sources, the Orioles discussed Pie with the Chicago White Sox in a potential deal revolving around third baseman Josh Fields, but it's not known how much interest, if any, the White Sox still have in the outfielder. santo=dorf
Pie is terrible and out of options. Another bust Cubs positional prospect?? No Way!
TylerAtIU
"Please don't do this"... My thoughts EXACTLY when I saw this come across MLBTR.... sounds old and won't happen
southsider2k5
Here is the story FWIW... http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles...0,5313097.story Pie, the 24-year-old outfielder who has started just three of the Orioles' past 21 games, is eight for his past 20 with four RBIs while getting limited at-bats with the emergence of rookie Nolan Reimold in left field. According to sources, the Orioles discussed Pie with the Chicago White Sox in a potential deal revolving around third baseman Josh Fields, but it's not known how much interest, if any, the White Sox still have in the outfielder. southsider2k5
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) Do the Sox really need Pie at this point? Not unless they really hate DeWayne Wise or Brian Anderson...
knightni
They can play Fields at 1st, 3rd and LF. Pie can't do that. There is no other backup 1B close to the majors now unless you count Flowers or Cook.
chw42
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:52 PM) They can play Fields at 1st, 3rd and LF. Pie can't do that. There is no other backup 1B close to the majors now unless you count Flowers or Cook. I'd much rather see Flowers than Fields... Fields has much better potential at this point than Pie. If Fields just gets rid of that stupid hitch before he swings, he'd actually hit a damn fastball and hit some homers.
CanOfCorn
This could've been originally been an idea when Wise was on the DL. Before the second coming of Scotty Pods. At this point...ain't gonna happen.
