why we are in the state we are in?

big frank not really hitting in the beginning,

paulie not hitting,

botch blowing saves,

colon and buerle not pitching like they could,

so am i missing something else, no one is putting all the blame on botch. imo

I think it all boils down to the fact that our offense sucked early. That made every blown save by Koch that much bigger. Buehrle struggled, but might not have struggled so much if he would have gotten a couple of well deserve wins early in the season.

Save Jimenez, the whole team wasn't hitting for the first month. That got us off to a not-so-great start.

Colon has really been disappointing. He was supposed to be our ace, but he's barely been better than our #4, Jon Garland.

Billy Koch, Gary Glover, and Rick White have been very disappointing overall. Our starting pitching has been good, but not good enough to be able to withstand a bullpen with an ERA of around 5.

And just bad timing has had a lot to do with it. We've f***ed up a lot when it mattered most, and it has cost us several games that we VERY easily could have won.

All of that said, if we win Tuesday, we'll be at .500.

This team needs to get like 6 or 7 games over .500. That's not something this team has been this late in a season since 2000. They always do this stupid inconsistent crap where they hover right around .500 for a whole summer. I need to see some people on this team step up and realize they have ALOT of work to do if they want to make up for a s***ty first half.

Well, we're 6 out now. If we win Tuesday, we could close it to 5. There's plenty of season left if we continue to score the kind of runs that we've been scoring in the past 5 games (an average of over 7 a game).

Just want to point out that we have been beating Detroit and Cleveland (this week) while KC and Minn have been beating Oakland and Seattle.

is it 5 or 5.5.

i thought it was 1/2 game if you are not playing the league leader.

i may be wrong on this.

Well obviously KC would have to lose if we win, and if that happens, we'll cut a game off the lead. But, if we both win, it'll stay at 6.
