Cali
What potential do some of you guys see in Clayton? Cause I don't see it AT ALL. He seems like an awful middle reliever... Oh Yay! Grand Slam
TitoMB345
Thanks Clayton. You suck. Enjoy your ride on the bench. Single, 2 walks, and an absolute BOMB on the first pitch WAY out. Edited July 9, 2009 by TitoMB345

ThunderBolt
Why Is Aaron Poreda on this team? Would he not be better served in the AAA rotation?
Cali
Time for my mantra from Spring Training: Clayton Richard is not a Starting Pitcher
TitoMB345
Too bad he'll be out there the next time his start comes up. Why did we call up Poreda again? Does anyone know?
CanOfCorn
OK...so who was that home run on? He throws all FB to Francisco...walks him. Then Shoppach, who sees this, sits on a FB...and gets? A fastball. And hammers it? Is that on Clayton or AJ?
caulfield12
Game really far from over, of course, but that might be the opening in the door for Poreda or Carrasco to get a start after the break. Poreda with the same problems with his breaking stuff and high pitch counts. Almost better to just get the GS out of the way and start over from scratch instead of having a really, really HUGE inning with 5-7 runs put on the board. Then Shoppach, who sees this, sits on a FB...and gets? A fastball. And hammers it? Is that on Clayton or AJ? Probably both. AJ has no choice but to call for the FB.. Clayton can't throw anything else. He hung every breaking pitch, and had no movement otherwise.

AJ was looking pissed off enough that I wouldn't put it past him to leave Clayton out to dry like that.
daa84
I have no problem with ozzie not starting richard the rest of the year...but after he gave up the slam...you gotta keep him in the game just for innings.....
TheBlackSox8
Does Poreda take his place now? In his last 6 starts Richard has only gone over 5 innings twice. His ERA has gone up a full run, and he is walking a ton more batters than the beginning of the year. Edited July 9, 2009 by onedude
