Vote4Pedro
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 10:26 PM) Educate me please. Would all teams in baseball let the guy steal third uncontested? Or just the Sox? eh, didnt matter span would have scored on that base hit anyways...
iamshack
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) Educate me please. Would all teams in baseball let the guy steal third uncontested? Or just the Sox? Not uncontested, but that stolen base had little chance of making much of a difference. Barring a hit that would have been an absolute rocket right at an outfielder, the baserunner was going to score on almost every other base hit. daa84
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Only thing I can think of is their individual numbers against Thornton....anyone know what they were? 4 for 17 for mauer, 3 for 18 for morneau
fathom
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 02:27 AM) Is there a WORSE manager in baseball in terms of decision making with his pitchers than Ozzie? I mean, seriously. Think about the Cubs game where he left Liney in after giving up the 3 run homer to Lee. It's absolutely disgusting, everyone in the world walks Mauer there, no brainer decision. A lot of our losses lately have had some really bad managerial decisions (more than usual, should I say).

caulfield12
I think I might have walked Mauer even with the favorable LHP/LHP match-up and with an MVP coming up after him in Morneau... PS: Our bullpen isn't nearly as good in reality against tough competition in the 7th-8th-9th as it looks on paper. Walking Nick Punto. Then letting him steal 3rd? Typical brain cramps for the White Sox, and a microcosm that inning of how the Twins peck, peck, peck teams to death until there is no meat left on the skeleton to devour. daa84
credit gardenhire for stealing 3rd.....IMO that took the "intentionaly unintentional" walk out of play as a past ball resulted in a run....still all we had to do was f***ing intentionally walk the best player in the AL JESUS f***ING CHRIST OZZIE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i am still steaming mad

greg775
I love Oz, but he isn't afraid to call out players. The media or Oz himself should call himself out tonight for the Mauer decision. True the leadoff walk predictably killed us; but Oz should at least reprimand himself as well. This season that's like letting Pujols beat ya.
