The Critic
Blues fired Andy Murray. We'll see if they get the "new coach boost" when they host the Hawks tonight. I doubt it.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 2, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) Blues fired Andy Murray. We'll see if they get the "new coach boost" when they host the Hawks tonight. I doubt it. This does have the makings of being a trap game... hawksfan61
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jan 1, 2010 -> 06:54 PM) Ryan is up there in the league in goals, Parise is #1 in +/-, obviously we know what Kane can do, Kessel is a stud, Rafalski is going to be the Wings' next Lidstrom, and Pavelski is pretty damn good. Clearly, it's nowhere near as talented as Russia's roster or Canada's roster, but I think it'll be good enough to compete with both of those countries. Rafalski the Wings next Lidstrom? He can't hold Lidstrom's jock and he is only three years younger than him......

I hate the trap, it sucks all the great elements out of the game.

SoxFan1
Could the Blues play any dirtier? An elbow to Kane's chin and Sharp gets taken out hard by Weaver. And now a 7 minute power play for STL, nice.

SoxFan1
Oh man, a great play by Toews sets up Kaner for a wide open net and he shanked it. Then Huet gives up a huge rebound and its 2-2. Ugh.
The Critic
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 2, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) That was god-awful officiating. I bet the Blues didn't get that kind of home-cooking during the holidays. STUPID penalty by Brouwer to give the Blues a full 2:00 two-man advantage. STUPID penalty by Brouwer to give the Blues a full 2:00 two-man advantage. And they killed the whole damned thing. Now we need to come out flying in the second and blow this open. SoxFan1
St. Louis is really pissing me off. Play some f***ing hockey. They could give a s*** less about winning, they're just trying to out-physical the Hawks no matter which way. 3-2 on the Campbell goal! Nice play by Hossa and Kane. SoxFan1
QUOTE (SockMe @ Jan 2, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) how did the Blues get a 7 minute power play in the 1st? Sharp gotten taken out, Barker tried to defend him and got 5 minute fighting and a 2 minute instigator penalties on top of a 10 minute misconduct and a 10 minute game misconduct. southsider2k5
QUOTE (SockMe @ Jan 2, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) match penalty? http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/blackhawks...an-get-physical They did accomplish one thing. Ben Eager was drawn into a match penalty when he took on Jackman, after a Janssen hit on Brent Sopel led to a small melee behind the Hawks net. The penalty draws an expulsion and a review by the league’s commissioner before he can play again. A match penalty is issued when there is an intent to injure. It wasn’t clear why the match penalty was issued over just a minor or major infraction. Before getting kicked out, Eager fought with B.J. Crombeen, while Colin Fraser threw down with Carlo Colaiacovo.
