seriously, in this age of ESPN, and internet voting, will there EVER be another White Sox starter in the All-Star game (that's not a pitcher)?

are you asking if the Sox will have a position player as a starter, or just plain having a position player in the All Star game?

I dont think it will be too long before Beckham is mentioned as an all star. Just last year we had Quentin there, I dont think its that far off to have another position player in the game

A position player, in the starting line-up VOTED by the fans.

Not like in the situation with Michael Young or Aaron Hill, where the people voted in couldn't play.

Id venture to say yes.

Sox players have done pretty well being elected the last player in via internet vote. When the Sox have a team that doesnt create apathy at the beginning of the season, you will see huge vote numbers.

It doesn't matter how good the team is playing as it pertains to voting. Apparently there just aren't enough White Sox fans in existence who vote. Not one starter voted in in 2005 when they we're playing great. Or in 2000.

There have been plenty of Sox players worthy, and who weren't even close to the number of votes needed.

Someone is gonna have to light the world on fire to ever get the starting job again.

It boggles my mind sometimes. Mauer is from Minnesota which was almost contracted 7 years ago, and a smaller market than Chicago. Voted in. Longoria from TB a team that's been around for 10 years and struggled to sell out the playoffs. Voted in.

Then how do you explain Pods and AJ being voted in as the last player?

Sox fans just dont care enough in April to start voting for a player just because they like them. If CQ had been healthy and on fire, I think he would have had a ton of votes.

Because it was a choice between only 5 players, not every player in baseball....
