BigSqwert
Yeah what a disappointment that was. It was so bad that the wife and I couldn't remember if we had actually seen it. Shows you how memorable it was to us.
Kid Gleason
If you could ignore the fact that it was a film called "Halloween" and that the character was Michael, then the first 1/2 had some decent moments. But the second it turns into a Readers Digest version of the original, excluding all the suspense and character development, it just becomes beyond pathetic. Plus, Zombie proves he has NEVER heard people speak to each other before, as the dialogue is just terrible.
GoSox05
I've read on most horror movie websites that Halloween 2 remake is god awful. I'm just sick of dumb remakes of horror movies. Whoever remade "The Fog" should be banned from making movies. Forever.
Kid Gleason
From what everybody says though, this is a sequel to Zombie's Halloween and not a remake of the original Halloween II.
Milkman delivers
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:02 AM) Watched Gangs of New York on IFC last night. I think I enjoyed it more the 2nd time around. Daniel Day Lewis was amazing. He's amazing in everything. That year Adrien Brody won Best Actor for the Pianist. It could have gone either way (that year was actually fairly stacked for actors), but I'm sure the fact that the Pianist was about a Jewish man surviving the Holocaust put Brody over the top. And that Boondock Saints trailer leaves a lot to be desired.
Milkman delivers
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:18 AM) He's been amazing in everything I've ever seen him in. I honestly think he's the best actor of my time (or at least he's one of them). IMO, he is the best actor of this generation. I always say that when I have movie discussions with people. Steve9347
I really enjoyed Boondock Saints the first time I watched it. However, I recently re-watched it and it does not stand the test of time. It's almost laughable. Edited September 4, 2009 by Steve9347

I fell asleep within 10 minutes of that movie starting when I watched it with a girl I was dating at the time. Same goes for Skeleton Key. Man, some real bad movies around that period. Kyyle23
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) I want to but Ben Affleck is literally the worst actor I have ever seen...and I mean he is worse than when porn stars try to act out a plot in their movies. He is ok in some roles. I loved him as the bully/douchebag/5th year senior in Dazed and Confused, and I also liked his small part in Good Will Hunting. I dont think his role in extract is going to be huge, he just looks like a stoner best friend who shows up for comedic relief here and there. Plus, how can you go wrong with JK Simmons, Jason Bateman and Mila Kunis

santo=dorf
Extract was an entertaining movie, but it wasn't as good as office space. I'm not much of an Affleck fan but thought he was really good in this movie.

I'd rank it a notch just below Pulp Fiction. Was thoroughly entertained throughout. I'd agree with whoever mentioned that the dialogue felt a bit more natural this time around which was a plus. Loved the various scenes with the ever-increasing tension. I will most definitely see this again at the theater although I wish I could switch the bar scene climax to slow motion in order to see all the craziness that ensues in the blink of an eye . Waltz delivered an Oscar-worthy performance. Edited September 5, 2009 by BigSqwert
