southsideirish71
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) True, but Contreras was really good in the minors and Colon wasn't all that impressive. At least, we should hit their starter. Colon is also a guy that is fastball heavy and doesn't feature a lot of secondary pitches. A moving 95 mph fastball is hard to center up ( old colon ). An 88 moving fastball when you are looking for it is not as hard. Edited July 24, 2009 by southsideirish71

chw42
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) The entire heart of the order has looked weak since the big game by Thome. It's amazing that we've actually won when our big hitters haven't hit at all this past week.
ChWRoCk2
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 01:31 PM) Contreras can still throw in the mid 90s. Colon can't. Colon will make Detroits s***ty ass lineup look good. Honestly, how the f*** do they win with that lineup, on paper it looks like s***. Cabrera and Granderson are the only two worth a damn and can get on base/hit, others are awful. I suppose Inge is alright.

kwolf68
AJ is hitting almost .300 and has only 28 rbis? He's on pace for about 50 RBIs this year. How on earth does that happen?

southsideirish71
I am glad we are working the count to get to Detroits terrible pen. If we keep hacking like this we are keeping him in for a while.

kwolf68
Verlander will take the 7th and I wouldn't be totally shocked to see him go 8 if the 7th is as easy as the 6th was.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Verlander will take the 7th and I wouldn't be totally shocked to see him go 8 if the 7th is as easy as the 6th was. This is why we have a hard time coming from behind late in games. We start hacking early in counts and making quick outs.
