chw42
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) It's Granderson, he can't hit an offspeed pitch. Gavin needs to have better command of his curve, as he can't just get by on his fastball. He can't hit a well located fastball either.

It's all Greg Walker. He must have told Carlos that he should hit 50 home runs instead of 40 and that the only way he accomplishes this is to try to pull every ball he sees. Well if he keep pulling everything and putting the first pitch in play, he will hit about .230.
Balta1701
42 pitches through 2 for Gavin. He needs a couple quicker innings and fewer defensive miscues, otherwise we'll be seeing the bullpen in the 6th. And I don't like the thought of that. fathom
Jackson's just throwing it right down the plate, and we can't do anything productive. Might be time to make some adjustments to the lineup.
SoxFan1
It's ridiculous how many balls we've hit hard right at people so far this series.
chw42
We hit three balls hard that inning. Too bad two of them hung up enough for Raburn to catch it.

Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:55 PM) Tigers have a very underrated defensive squad. That was actually quite deliberately done. They decided they might be able to build a winner cheaper by focusing on that rather than the bats last offseason. Hence: Adam Everett at SS, Guillen/Cabrera moving to 1b/DH, Inge back to 3b, etc.
SoxFan1
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) I missed the day game yesterday, were there a lot? The night game didn't have too many after the 3rd. That was the worst game of the 3 so far. Verlander could have been on the hook if half those balls drop. Part of the reason Verlander only had like 20 pitches in the 5th, 6th, and 7th was because we nailed everything he threw but we couldn't catch a break and have any drop. Yet every f***ing run the Tigers scored was on a bloop over a glove or down the lines. This series has been horrible.

The walk with the bases loaded was so predictable, as well as the big inning in the first today after the pathetic 3-2 call by the umpire.
