BearSox
If they want a failed 3B prospect, they could have had Fields. Man, would our lineup look a whole lot better with Rolen at 3B and Beckham at 2B.

chw42
Wow...we should have given them Fields and a mid-level prospect for Rolen then.

CanOfCorn
Per Rotoworld: According to FOXSports.com, the Blue Jays will receive infielders Edwin Encarnacion and Yonder Alonso from the Reds for third baseman Scott Rolen. It'd be a surprisingly nice haul for the Jays. Alonso was a first-round pick just a year ago and Encarnacion is a full eight years younger than Rolen. Jordan4life_2007
Y'all need to check out Redszone.com. They're goin' nuts over there. I can't blame them. What an awful, awful, awful trade.
EvilJester99
3:14pm: Rolen approved the deal, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (on Twitter). ESPN's Keith Law says Yonder Alonso is not in the deal. Instead, it'll be Encarnacion, Josh Roenicke, and Zach Stewart heading to Toronto acco Edited July 31, 2009 by EvilJester99

ThunderBolt
This move makes very little sense. Are the Reds going for it? Maybe.? Are they going anywhere? No. What good does this do in the long-term? Does it rid you of a decent-3b, and two good pitching prospects? That's about all it does do.
